Two things:

a) Why do the right wing bezerkers always imply or flaty state that those who hold opposing views are deranged, socialists, communists, etc?
I didn’t say that. I think that opposing ideas are healthy. One party with a complete and filibuster proof control of the house, senate and white house is a very dangerous thing for either party.
It’s kinda funny that the media paints the Tea Party as right wing. They are taking down just as many republicans as democrats. The target is incumbents who have built their career on pork. No matter what party they represent.

b) Why do they have such a bad time at spelling? Really, this is but one example of atrocious spelling one finds all over the bezerker blogs. I dont know. I cant spell either LOL.

I get so sick of people bashing Americans! I mean come on the very first post that started this thread was totally incorrect nonsense!! Not to say that in any part of the world you can't find some morons to publicize and attempt to stereotype with but that post was false! If you want to bash Americans at least start off with something truthful!!

Additionally PLEASE tell me a Nation that has given and continues to give and do so much for the rest of humanity as Americans! Who is the first to give and always gives the most?? Oh yea thats right Americans!!!! Nobody else ever comes close! I am amazed that no matter what part of the world is in distress or needs our aid its America to the rescue time and time again.

Did you notice what forum this thread was posted in? In the Jokes forum! And if Americans cannot take the mickey on their own country, who can? SE & I are both Americans - SE from Houston & me from just outside the National Whorehouse in Washington DC.

You really need to lighten up.

MO3 - It is posts like these that give American's a bad name... It sounds like you're a FOX press junkie. I suggest that you pick up a newspaper from a non-US source to read the other side of the story. America is not perfect so please don't go preaching on why it is so. Humility is a precious trait and I suggest that you try and learn a little.

I've lived overseas a long time and had the great pleasure to travel all over the world. I've lived most of that time in the Middle East, some in Asia. People on the news and in general often try to portray the ME as anti-American and I find just the opposite! You'd be shocked to know the people that have thanked me when they discovered I was American!

Living overseas as I have, I've been exposed to outside news sources plenty! Sorry its not arrogant when you are stating the truth :) Yes I love Fox News but don't get it overseas so unfortunatly I never get the pleasure of watching it! Too busy to try to follow online as I said Mother of three keeps me plenty busy!

I know my country - good and bad! Too bad the rest of the world isn't as half as giving, tolerant and selfless as the USA is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where would humanity be without the USA? Lets see those of you in Asia would be speaking Japanese, Europe would be speaking German and I can't begin to imagine in the rest of the world! Please let me stop here!!!!!

Thank you, USA for all your good deeds. I can only hope that one day you'll notice and recognize all the other good nations in the world, and realize that all your good deeds would have been for naught if it weren't for the collaboration of ALL these nations. You're not the only good guy. You're just the noisiest and least humble of them.

It's people like that, that make me want to take up Singaporean Citizenship and pretend I came from somewhere else. I cringe when I hear one of those types and I just want to vomit! She should have to walk a mile in the shoes I walked in from 1965-1968. Sadly, there are a lot of pathetic Americans out there who actually break their arms worse than the average Singapore MP's do trying to pat themselves on the back. Why, cause nobody else will. Yeah, we Yanks donate more money, time and energy to victims of Natural disasters than any other country in the world. We also inflict more damage on other countries than any other country in the world, all for the quest of oil. Some people should be seen and not heard. That also applies to adults, and not just children.

Hmm....

Lets see I originally commented because the initial post didn't come off as a "joke" to me but trying to characterize Americans as idiots! Not that some aren't, but it was untrue and in my opinion you didn't make that clear. Then you replied it was a joke and to lighten up, so I apologized :)

I suppose you are referring to military service on your part? Regardless whatever it was I will thank you for your contribution to humanity.

I'm not patting my back just my fellow Americans. I hate it when people try to portrait Americans in a negative light that I feel is undeserved. Fortunatly as I've said 9 times out of 10 I hear only positives. Esp. in the Middle East. I've heard it from Iraqi's, Kuwaiti's, Irani's, you name it!!! They didn't have to say anything to me but went out of there way to, so I have to assume it was nothing but sincere.

As you agree nobody donates more money, time and energy to victims of natural disasters. Thats the nature of most Americans thankfully.

As for our roles in other parts of the world. Unfortunatly nobody else ever seems to step up to the plate like Americans, Brits, Canada, Australia, etc. Perhaps because we have all been so blessed.

We have PLENTY of oil and various other natural resources for energy in the states should we ever choose to take advantage. Last I heard China was putting offshore drilling rigs off the coast of Florida!

It would be easier to stay at home and stop saving the world, but it seems the part Americans continue to play. Although on occasion we've fallen short and left missions unfinished. Sad to say. I personally hope for freedoms for Iraqi's and Afghani's and the entire Middle East as a whole. I've lived in the ME for quite a while now and love that part of the world and the people there. Everybody in the world of ours deserves freedom. The world will be a better place when various religions, and sects of religions, non believers etc. learn to accept other and stop fighting in the name of their religion. Personal freedom and acceptance it would make for a nicer world.

Sadly it goes without saying more people have died and fought in wars in the name of religion over the history of mankind. That continues to be the case worldwide. I think people choose to try to say is oil. As I said America has plenty of natural resources of her own. I do not believe that the USA saved Kuwait or enterted into Iraq and Afghanistan for oil. Exactly how much oil are we supposedly getting from Afghanistan? Are you aware of the vast amounts of oil in Alaska? Last time I heard it dwarfed all the oil in the ME, and Alaska was part of the USA.

You don't want to hear what I have to say? Sorry! I'll leave you alone then. I also love Singapore and have often thought of citizenship myself for various reasons. Singapore citizenship for you --> I say you should go for it! Esp. if you aren't at ALL times Proud to be an American!

Proud, Yes. Prideful, No.

You should go back and read your initial posts. At least you moderated your stance in the last post. It's NOT just America but a considerable number of countries who help out world wide.
