ur nt the only one. before i went for my medical ystrdy i got a doctor's letter to certify that i am completely fine and stuffs but when i came yesterday the SIA doctor check evrything and thn gave me a letter to retrieve my previous biopsy report from the hospital because she wants to make sure im really fine i guess...

spent 120 for an ultrasound...the lady who checked me gave a positive remark though there is nothing to be worried about.. praying hard i will get through. :S
the male doc did not even give me a chance to retrieve any report to show tht my past medical history is actually "cleared", he stated UNFIT immediately.

I went back to shenton the following day to pend my case as I will be getting my "clear report" from other specialist.

I seriously do not understand why he put me unfit when he didnt even bother to check with me if my past medical history is still there. He simply ask me to go back HR to get a second chance from them!
and when I called HR, a lady mentioned that medical has nothing to do with them, its all up to the doctor to decide!

May I check if anyone knows that an opinion from other specialist stating I am fit to fly, can override the shenton's doc comments?

Sharing and Caring

Post by pokeurbutt » Fri, 02 Jul 2010 11:04 am

Just want to share my experience even though I'm still waiting for a call/letter.

1st round: 10-2
We were asked to introduce ourselves and answer a question. Exact words were, "Please introduce yourselves, your current job and answer this - How would you introduce Singapore to passengers".

Many talked abt the casinos and common tourist sights. I said about other than the common tourist attractions, I would also recommend them trekking, the rainforest and Bukit Timah Hill. Kinda forgotten what I said. Someone mentioned about asking the passenger his/her interest first. Good one.

2nd round: Skin check
They put us into groups. Spotlight on the floor upwards. Most had to do a short walk. I was not ask to walk. Take weight. Then wait outside and results are announced

3rd round: Game and 1-to-1 Interview
Game: They separate 8 people into 2 groups. 4 against 4 and we are suppose to discuss strategies. Its memory game where by we have to get 5 pairs of similar uno cards. Doesn't matter team wins or loses. 1 interviewer will be focussing on 2 of us at any 1 time.

1-to-1: The interviewer who was focussing on us will ask questions. For me it was talking about past job experiences. Then it was passage reading. He gave me time to choose passages. Passages are problems that FS faces. Hence, I chose one that I may have an answer to. About passanger wanting to move from economy class to business class. I said I will check on availability, if not I will do my best to provide business class service and food to the passenger. Manage to pass even though thot i screwed it up.

4th round: Management
It was the next day. Was put into a group of 6. We had time so we mingled and intro-ed each other. We were asked use 1 min and find out a fascinating fact about our partners and introduce to them. Then we had a discussion topic. Mine was about saving gaia, the environment and what it had to do with the airlines.

5th round: Kebaya Fitting
Just wear the right side, walk towards interviewer and similar to skincheck. Check hands, neck and face.

Now, I'm waiting for medicals. Hence the long wait. Got asked back for scoliosis x-ray. Just praying for now.

Hope this helps the rest. Good luck!

oh dear, i am so sorry to hear that. do you mean to say that your already rejected? and how did you know he stated UNFIT? he wrote that in front of you? i heard from a friend whos currently flying who has a classmate who spent about 700-800 to get another medical done to certify that he is fit. but that too is because the doc at shenton himself referred the guy to another private specialist... so im nt too sure about that. maybe you can try speaking to the doctor again and clear things up with him? make sure you arm yourself with ur hospital/medical documents first before going...
you can retrieve the docs at the medical records office for just afew dollars admin charge. hope tt helped..

tangeve, did you used to have a surgery last time or smtg that they sent you for one? cause i did..but all is clear.
