Is Wii fun to play?

Post by yunyun_here » Tue, 18 May 2010 1:11 pm

I'm thinking of buying a wii station, just wonder is Wii fun to play with, or just another boring gadget after a while? The challenger has an offer of $349 comes with 1 remote (why not a pair??!!), one 5-in-1 sports game, 1 console, chargers, etc. Worth the deal? Any suggestion?? thanks!

I got bored of mine a long time ago...

It's definitely worth it for several weeks though, and nothing beats playing some baseball or golf after hammering several beers. :)

Wii is great for the family and kids. Not something you want to play by yourself. There are some great games where I can and do play with my wife and daughter (tween). Not for the serious gamer though.

For the serious gamer I'd still prefer the xbox over the ps3. Ironically some games look even better on the former, like GTA4, which is surprisingly rendered in a higher resolution on the xbox than the ps3.

You can try it out at the Wii Cafes before buying.
There's are Wii Cafes at Prinsep street, Cineleisure and Novena Square but their customers are mostly teens.

It can be just another boring gadget after a while but ours comes and goes with popularity in our house - nobody touches it for months and then someone gets hooked on Mario Kart all over again!

I prefer playing games on the PC though really, the Wii's OK for playing games against another person but if you're just after a bit of solo game playing, the PC's better. It's strange really because in our house we've been hooked on things like this since the Atari in the 80s but the Wii has never really had the appeal that those old consoles had - it must be because of the PC as we didn't have internet and all that back then.
