Work permit for casino job

Post by alexyno » Sat, 05 Jun 2010 5:01 am

Hello,

This is my first post to this forum, that i've found very rich in all-around information...So, my questions to you are the following:

I've applied for a job at Marine Bay Sands Resort, got shortlisted, passed the first step and now I'm waiting for the telephone interview...If it's ok...I'll need some information:

1. What kind of work permit is requiered for me to work since I am an Romanian (EU)?
2. Who will make all the legal requests to get the permit?
3. What kind of medical exam is needed? Can I make it home? Or only in Sing.?
4. Upon arrival (if applicable) what I must do?
5. The accomodation will be provided by the company?

and a lot more...but those are for now...

Sorry if I'm asking a lot...and Thanks in advance for understanding me...

Alex.

This would be dependent on the position and your academic qualifications & Salary level.

2. Who will make all the legal requests to get the permit?

You will provide the employer with the pertinent information re: academic qualifications, the employer will provide their pertinent bits and do the actual filing. If successful, you/the Employer will be provided with an AIP (Approval in Principle). Upon getting a copy of the AIP you can make your way to Singapore.

3. What kind of medical exam is needed? Can I make it home? Or only in Sing.?

Basically, you will be required to get a medical at a local Doctor here in Singapore. You are tested for TB & HIV I believe.

4. Upon arrival (if applicable) what I must do?

Go to the Employer for instructions, collection of paperwork before going to the medical and pass finalization.

5. The accomodation will be provided by the company?

That is a discussion for you and the company.

and a lot more...but those are for now...

You also need to know if your former Ambassador's killing of a local in a couple of Hit & Run Accidents will impact your chances here. (I don't know).

I believe SMS mentioned the purpose when he brought it up.

Alexyno, It is precisely because of the statement that you just made, that I passed the comment that I did. The evidence here as to his guilt or innocence has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt including a eyewitness. The facts are that YOUR government is stalling and hemming and hawing about it and that's the problem. A man was killed by an agent of your government who has lied repeatedly to the authorities here and made statements from your country that amount to slander or liable. Should a non-satisfactory conclusion be arrived at (in Singapore's eyes) they may well sever or severely curtail diplomatic relations with Romania. Should that happen, Romanians here may find themselves holding the short end of the stick and payback could conceivably cause their citizens to not be welcome here for work as we will have already seen what they are capable of and how much responsibility they are willing to accept. While this is patently not true and you and I both know it, governments tend to do those things don't they.

Yeah, you're both right... Anyway, hope that will be allright :).

Normally, for me the visa is not requiered for personal traveling...To work there I need a work visa or something similar?

The recruitment officer from casino tried to call me on saturday...but they was unable to make a connection...You know about loosing phone connections abroad?

Now I'm waiting to make another window for me...:)
