My classmate (PRC passport) applied for PR after we graduated. It is a slightly different scheme. However after being worked like a dog for about 4 months, she decided to leave the job. She went and told ICA and they issued her with a SVP. She applied for a LTSVP and started job hunting. Her PR application was kept in the system, but stalled. When she received a new job a month or two later, she informed ICA, and they put her PR application in motion again. She received her PR a few months into the new job.

So if your PR is already underway and you are fired, there may be a chance to continue with it. I guess it is a matter of pleading your case to ICA, and showing that you really can be of benefit to Singapore.
wcs,

Thank you, but may i know when did this actually happen because I heard that ICA is too tough already and strict in approving PR nowadays. I heard they started last September last year. And then most of the people I knew who applied were rejected.

Thanks, again.

She first applied in July 2009. Went on SVP around Oct. Was asked to collect her PR around Feb 2010.

Good Luck.
