Newbee in Singapore :-)

Post by Leah Phipps » Wed, 24 Mar 2010 7:34 pm

Hey
I am a British 23 year old female and I will be moving to Singapore in July for a couple of years to work!
I will be looking to share a condo as I dont want to be spending a fortune on rent - would like to fly back to England every once in a while!
If you are in the same shoes as me, or have any advice on moving over, give me a shout.
Im so excited about coming over - cant wait infact! Im just going through the initial stages of uprouting my life...!!! Exciting times.

That sounds wicked - Thanks.
Are you working or just there for the experience??
How have you found finding a place and how much things cost etc? Is it a lot different from the UK??

I found my place really easy, actually it was on the classified section of this website! There's are a few other website's to look at like gumtree or .. Housing is quite expensive over here, it's more than likely you will have to share, alcohol is expensive too and owning your own car is a no-no. but everything else seems to be cheaper, eating out and public transport especially!

I've got a job out here for 2 years, I'm working at the new casino, what will you be doing when you get here?

Ill check the classified bit out then!
wicked - I have come to realise accomodation is a lot steaper than at home but hey, swings and roundabouts!

I also have a 2 year contract - working for my current company, just transferring offices. I work for a Recruitment Agency!!
Whats the new casino like then?? I need to be checking that out then?!?
