employment bond based on PR status

Post by blasteddome » Fri, 15 Jan 2010 12:05 pm

Potential future employer has a clause in the contract which mentions that I need to work with them for atleast one year after Singapore PR is approved (if I apply).

Is this legal?

I am a PEP holder.

As you are probably being offered way more than the amount that is covered under The Employment Act ($2K/mo), then YES, if you sign the contract, it's legal. If you don't agree with it, don't sign it. The choice is yours.

Which basically says exactly what I said but with a lot more words. At the moment there are no laws governing employee/employer contracts if they fall outside the parameters of The Employment Act. So, if you sign it, it's legal.
