Opening a Food Stall

Post by ironlady » Wed, 02 Dec 2009 10:44 pm

Hi all ,I am intending to open up a Nasi Padang style of food stall.

Where can I buy those very big pots from to cook ?

Also, does anyone know any website or something where I can get the suppliers from who can supply me with the vege etc to cook.

Any sort of guidance & advice towards my homework for opening a food stall in a mall's food court will be much appreciated.

Thanks! :)

Is this going to be in your nail salon? Or in one of the other businesses you were opening over the past couple of years?

You can find most anything you need in the "Green Book" Google is your friend.

Head to Chinatown, there are restaurant suppliers there. I think it was Temple St. They have all the equipment you need to be a hawker, restaurant or caterer!

Good Luck!

I have some stall items for sale. I used to sell nasi lemak and have since winded up my business a month ago. You can email me at [email protected] and i will give you details.

I think you can take over some of my stuff since you plan to sell nasi padang.

And this, not wanting to use you as an example, is why the MOM is tightening up on giving out work visas. I'm sure there are locals who would NOT have to ask such a basic question if they were given the position. So I have to question why a work permit was/is being granted for you. It ends up that others here are having to do one of your basic functions of your position for you.

It's no wonder that the local are upset. :???:

I am still doing my homework and deciding. Cooking will mean taking lots of time.

I am also looking into the Ya Kun Kaya Toast kind of concept. Something where people just pop in to get coffee and crispy bread, or cakes.

Lets see I am still looking into it

I dont think you have to say that. I take things very slow, do my homework well, and go into it when I fully convinced to do it.

I have young children so for a lady to think of a full time business, has to be done very carefully.
