Not only did I go, but I got to go with my 19 year old daughter. Here's the playlist from the concert last Thursday night at Madison Square Garden:

Jerry Lee Lewis :

The first night of the 25th anniversary of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame concerts in New York City. Only one star in a constellation of wonderful that week: also met Sir Paul McCartney in a luncheonette on Lexington Avenue :D

So, did it make you feel old, or young again? :)

Perhaps because you mentioned your 19 year old daughter?

And perhaps she feels that young! Though a young person would never know the connection between music and life, until they get old that is! But I can vouch and say that at 60 and over, it doesn't look as if we will be turning off the 60's, 70's 80's, 90, or the 20th century, so my guess is that a majority of musicians and music have crashed the barriers of life between what is considered old. I'm coming up 60 and would rather be with people with the same thought process because in mind we are young, no change, unless hit by disease that is. Not to mention the way one socialises throughout life. Christ how old is Tina Turner these days, not to mention Paul Simon and others, for me it's just a magical occasion that I will rock away my life with until i die with some very good memories !
I have become so appreciative of sounds since loosing the middle range hearing, that a really have to channel all my energies to listening, to hear if it is getting worse, and when my daughter puts my phone on silent mode, I'm really out of it because she is 9 years old and my ring tone is updated to 21st century! Though she said to me when i was in the Levi store, when I said "I know that group" that is singing, she said " Dad It's the music you put on my phone Guns & Roses , "ah 9 years old and you are listening to guns and rose" I said, she said no! You ar!, I'm just telling you who it was singing the song.

Christ is Jerry Lee Lewis still kicking?

Having a 19 year old daughter does not mean you are old, but rather it keeps you young...

Having a 19 year old didn't make you old. The years between 13 & 19 did! Once they hit 18 they are on their own. But that 5 years between is like a minefield! Especially when the first one leaves the nest!

This is what happens when you stop reading the Village Voice because it's not free from the place around the corner.

I would have found an excuse for a trip back had I known something like this was happening. This is once in a lifetime kinda stuff.

And you're entirely justified to gloat.
