for haircuts, i've been very impressed with Alexandre Casta on Aliwal Street, all their stylists are good and understand cut and color.

Are their prices reasonable? I'm thinking of trying them out.

Hi, i've been in singapore for a few months and after my first hairdressing disaster i vowed i would never go to another singaporean hairdresser. I flew home to melbourne for my next hairdressing appointment.

I have since found and would love to recommend the capello loft at centre point on orchard road- i have blond hair and they did a great job with cut and colour. i've sent lots of friends there and so far everyone has been really happy

Hi kellbell3366 I've just moved to Singapore and was really wanting to find out the sort of prices of cut and colouring here. After living in Asia for many years I realised finding a hairdresser that could colour hair blond well was a mission in itself so I will take to mind your recommendation of capello loft! Do you know the sort of price for it there? Just trying to get my bearings!

I've got naturally curly hi-lighted hair and Cheya at T & G does the colour and David the cuts. I am completely happy and wouldn't consider going anywhere else now....

Cedric from Le Papillon

Post by sansian » Tue, 06 Oct 2009 11:39 pm

I have curly, frizzy hair and, over the past 2 years, I've used senior stylists from 3 hair salons in Singapore - Toni & Guy@Heeren, Next Hair Salon in Holland Village, and Ikon Hair Salon. *None* of these senior stylists I used could do a decent job.

I was about to give up on finding a decent hairdresser in Singapore when I came across recommendations for Le Papillon on this forum. I visited Cedric (the owner and stylist) and was very impressed! He's the *only* hairdresser I've been to that really knows what he's doing.

I highly recommend Cedric from Le Papillon (63923886) for a decent haircut in Singapore. His salon's located at Parkview Square.

When i'm working with new hairpeople, I always get a consult and see what they want to do with my hair and see how i feel about them. Try that and see how you feel.

I've used Toni and GUys at Hereen , the Kim Robertson place at Taka and this salon at Orchard Delfi.

Salon Dor la Mode
402 Orchard Road #05-28 Delfi Orchard
6732 7423

Angie does my hair there and she works with alot of expats.

You can try her! :)

Will I need to take out a mortgage??

Post by mrshamilton » Mon, 26 Oct 2009 8:10 am

So how much is it for a cut, colour, blow-dry, and treatment? I'm an Aveda salon girl, and I understand Aveda is shut in Singapore now, so I'm guessing it's to Toni & Guy (based on your postings here girls!) I love a good treatment...

What am I likely to have to pay each time for the total package?? (Cut/color/treatment/blowdry)???

Thanks!

depends on the seniority of the stylist/colorist u use

for toni and guy , a more experienced person abt director level would probably be about $550 in total include highlights for long hair. could be more depending on the treatment you want.

$115 for my last haircut. yes it is pricey but i rather pay someone who understands caucasian hair and English.
colour depends on the treatment, Alexandre Casta is about $150 and up
Rouge is less expensive about $80 and up, all depends on hair length and service (hi-lights or colour)

another place i go to, not as expensive as Alexandre Casta ...also excellent is Rouge at Dempsey Hill, upstairs from the clothes shop, Angie and Erna are from the UK and they do colour and cuts.

I'm a guy so my requirements are slightly different to the women in this forum, but I've been getting my hair done at the Red dot and SHS hair both at Forum Shopping Centre. They are both friendly and down to earth sorts of businesses.
When I feel like a cheap cut I get it done at Red Dot... really no frills. In and out sort of business, probably more suited to the guys in this forum.

But when I need a better trim (ie. before an event), I see Gary at SHS. I know Gary treats a few female celebrity types which I've spotted there routinely, so I guess he's good with the women. I highly recommend them both.

Hi Guys,

I popped in to Toni & Guy the other day to ask if anyone there specialised in curly hair and to be honest their answer didn't reassure me...has anyone got any recommendations for a very thick curl??
