Concert buds

Post by dev210 » Fri, 10 Jul 2009 1:24 am

For sure, NIN rocks. So glad to find people enthused.. i was wondering about the show up due to the lack of advertising.

Am going on my own. If any others are too, lets ALL GO TOGETHER AND MAKE A NIGHT OF IT.

Also The Slip is available to download for free on NIN website.

Devina.

do anyone knows if he/they can play here without censorship?

i will really hate to go to a NIN concert that is censored for the sake of not offending some sensibilities... seems like a contradiction to me.

some info:
The scripts of all plays to be performed in Singapore must be vetted in advance by the Media Development Authority (MDA), which has the right to ban any it views as "contrary to the public interest", with no right of appeal.
In 1963, Singapore banned the hit song Puff, the Magic Dragon, fearing that it referenced marijuana. Janet Jackson's albums Velvet Rope and All For You were also banned due to homosexual and sexually explicit themes that the BPAA found "not acceptable to our society"

I would not be surprised if they do ban songs for sure... #%#$^
No encouragment for freedom to think on your own. Why do you think there are so many expats employed here.

well, i rather dont go, i wont give money to perpetuate that behavior.

we should actually check and if they are gonna censor something, the correct answer from anyone who appreciate NIN should be to boycott that concert.

i think there are so many expats because they prefer to come here than staying in their countries where they get less money and less privileges, worse social conditions, less safe, etc... why else?

now if you talk about immigrants well that is absolutely another thing and be careful with that statement considering that currently in the U.S and Europe most of the high level scientific research and technology is done by... guess who? immigrants!...

i just realised thats a photo of a floor grate. Nice one.

Okay, i'd rather go on strike rather than boycott. I'm too much of a fan to sit at home where my statement would go unnoticed.

humm... not really sure if you are being sarcastic here :-)

as i am fan of nothing other than a few core values which some of them are represented in the musik of this or other entertainer, it seems pointless to me to support a standardized form of pack mentality that reinforce a sense of belonging and by doing that going against those few core values i hold dear...

but before we jump into conclusions i will check out if they are censoring the guy or not, i mean, otherwise it is just like religious people going for a witch hunt :-D

Your bi-polar statement is hillarious.

Okay do your homework and then report. :) I will enjoy the concert and then report - censored or not.
