i chanced upon your post and decided to reply :D
there are generally 2 types of whitening:
1 using a take home kit which u use at home yourself, the other is done in the dental office by the dentist, which is much faster
the price for an in-office whitening is around 1000 SGD, you may be able to find some slightly cheaper.
the in-office whitening is of course more effective and faster than the take home kit where the dentist makes u a tray which u bring home.
teeth whitening may be done by lasers, or by chemicals. not much difference whichever way you get it done.
i'm a dental surgeon btw, hope this answers your questions.
cheers!

hi, i am a new member thus unable to PM u.
can u let me know the prices for laser teeth whitening and the info on teeth whitening.
i am keen to do either Britesmile laser or teeth bleaching but unsure which is better and how long can results last and the treatments.
thks

Hi there
both are equally good, either britesmile or Zoom laser whitening.
How long results last varies greatly. But do remember not to consume coloured foods at least a week after the whitening.
Also, do get a take home kit made for yourself so that the shade can be maintained subsequently

Hi
Here are my replies:

A few questions from you before I get my teeth laser-whitened.

Have you earned enough from everyone to start you own clinic?

No. I work at 2 places:
At NHG DentalCare on some days and as a fellow at T32 Dental Centre.
At NHG, i get a fixed pay regardless of who i see or what i do. At T32, i don't get paid for any whitening i do.

Are you still active in this forum?
Yes. Rather busy so replies may be late though.

1.You can ignore the questions above.
But those below are everyone's commmon question..

2.How much does it cost?

About 1.2k for whitening + maintenence kit, including GST.

3.Is the white permanent (If i brush with normal toothpaste)?

No. Nothing is permanent. Gotta maintain with the take-home kit if you want long lasting results.

4.If the white is not permanent,
how long will the white stay (If i brush teeth with normal toothpaste)

Again, as above.

5.Does the Crest Whitestrips whiten the teeth to like those advertised after prolonged use? How long will it last (Brushing with normal toothpaste)?

In my opinion, no. You prob can't achieve that sort of shade with just using the strips.

6.Is normal / whitening toothpaste as good as the maintenance tray thing?

Nope. The maintenence tray uses a low concentration bleaching gel, which is what really works.

Last questionHow much does the laser whitening from you cost.

See above

Hope you are still active to reply.
Cheers.

lol sure! i've pm you the contact details.
I've also given you the clinic website and details so that you can check it out if you like. there're useful "before" "after" photos which you can see.
But we've to do an examination first cuz not everyone may be immediately suitable for teeth whitening.
hope that helps.
cheers
Hi Gf, can I also have the details of your clinic? i'm a foreigner in Singapore and i wasn't too lucky with doctors here. hehe better go to someone who obviously knows what he's talking about.

Thank you in advance.
Cheers

Hi GF!!
I read that you're a dentist and those who've done teeth whitening with you seem really pleased with the results..
Could you send an email to me regarding your clinic address, contact number, and the price of teeth whitening over at your clinic?
Really would like to have it done over at your side, so got to save up first..
Thank you!!

Hi elims
Whitening is widely recognised as the safest and least invasive procedure amongst aesthetic procedures. There are no side effects, no damage to the tooth structure, doesn't make your teeth more likely to decay etc. In-office whitening is usually rather sensitive though, but the sensitivity goes away after a day or 2.

Tetracycline teeth are very difficult to whiten, you can try whitening to lighten the shades a little but usually you'll require veneers to correct tetracycline staining as it is rather resistant to whitening. Even then, it's recommended to have whitening done so that the base shade is lighter. That makes it easier to get the veneers done.

hope this helps.

cheers
