Hi,

I am a 32years old guy (173cm) who is looking for a dance partner in Standard, Latin, Tango Argentino or whatsoever. I have been dancing since quite a time and want to continue my dancing here in Singapore. If you are interested in dancing please forward me a message….

Thanks.

Hi

Welcome to Singapore.

Regarding the Argentine Tango scene in Singapore:

Feel free to come to the milongas at Abrazos on Fridays and Saturdays.
http://abrazosclub.com/

Unlike the standard ballroom scene, it's not necessary to show up with a dance partner at a milonga. The usual cabaceo would work or guys asking the ladies to dance and . . .

You'll quickly become familiar with the regulars in no time at all. Quite a number have been dancing for several years and are well-travelled. We have danced the tango at milongas in various cities around the world like Buenos Aires of course, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Japan, Korea, Australia, Europe, America and Canada. Like everywhere else, a good male lead is always very welcome.
We dance mostly traditional milonguero style. Well, if you prefer tango nuevo, do keep a look out for the few ladies who can do that.

Have fun
8-)

Hi PratJ

Welcome to Singapore

Glad to hear that you like to dance . . .

Besides bachata and merengue lessons, I'd recommend taking up salsa lessons as well since the latter is the most popular latin dance here . . .

Check out the following dancing schools:

Attitude http://www.asiasalsa.com/

Danz X'pressio http://www.danzxpressio.com.sg/cos/o.x? ... w&rid=7855

LA Dance Connection http://www.ladanceconnection.com/

JJSalsaRengue http://www.jjsalsarengue.com/dance.php

It's not necessary to turn up with a partner, you'll meet many new friends through the dance classes . . .

Enjoy . . .

Latin Dance Singapore

Post by zzoukk » Sat, 07 Nov 2009 12:44 pm

I've (guy) just moved to Singapore and I can only find dance info on salsa and tango. Does anyone or groups do other latin. I love Zouk; lambada; gaffiera, cha cha; bollero; bosanova; forro; bachatta; merenge. Looking for opportunities to maintain and possibly improve.

The crowd also dance bachata, merengue and cha cha at the regular salsa joints; not sure if anyone is able to dance the others even if such music is being played . . .

Hi everyone,

It is indeed an interesting conversation going on around here. I would like to know if anyone is interesting in learning some ballroom dance? A partner to practise after the session would be nice. Sadly, I am a novice myself in this area. Trying to get to it.. Hopefully sooner than later.

Btw, I am F/ Malaysian Chinese, Height=136cm and weight average.
