Where to buy Jalapeño in Singapore?

Post by Girl_Next_Door » Wed, 11 Feb 2009 11:30 am

Anyone know where can I get (preferably fresh, if not canned is fine too) Jalapeño in Singapore?

The Cold Storage in Siglap Center used to sell canned ones, but they have been sold out for the longest time... Carrefour don't have it, Giant don't as well, and obviously NTUC don't have that. I think very very few Cold Storage have stocks, so I'm wondering which ones actually have it.

Or is there a grocer somewhere that sells it? Jones Grocer at Dempsey don't have it either, so yes, I have been looking around!

Thanks in advance!

GND - tried Mustafas? I *THINK* I saw some jars of them there, but I don't normally use them in my cooking so I cannot be certain. Happy to check for you next time I do my spice run down there.

Mustafa? Interesting... would be great if you can check for me. I didn't realize Indians like Jalapeño too.

Will give Giant at Parkway a try over the weekend. Found a can of chopped one today, at Marketplace down in Cityhall. But its all chopped up, prefer the whole complete type so that I can use them for cooking.

And what else would you be using them for, LOL!!! Sorry, just my sick sense of humour!!!

My next spice run might be FRI afternoon, but I'm not entirely sure. If I go I'll let you know.

Perhaps someone else who is going to Mustafa's before the weekend might be kind enough to check this out for GND?

They sell the fresh ones at Marketplace (Tanglin) and Jasons (behind Orchard Towers). Cost a mint tho - about $7 for 4/5. You can buy the jarred ones pretty much anywhere in the pickled section.

You can go to Clementi Central at 123 Clementi where there's a WE Cinema.
