I just bought another $18 Star Hub Green top up card. You can get a free Old Chang Kee curry O. Yah... Then i realised that 7-Eleven is having a $3 discount on the $18 top up card. Oh well.

I got the Starhub Ez Travel prepaid where you can convert to your home country mobile. They just punch a hole in your home country sim and attach a black plastic sim over it.

By the way, when they say free sms to local mobiles, it is free. I have topped up a few times already and i have accumulated over 128 free local sms. Each time you top up, you get 60 free sms and it accumulates.

Ah, ok, i guess im just a too good believer customer...
Although 3-month would actually fit from a time-frame perspective, anyway, i wonder what the -punch-a-whole in detail means!?
Im not sure my girlfriend would be really agreeing to that :)

yeah, just got to be careful in singapore when you see the word "free". some free are free, and some free you have to pay to get it free. :)

AAM - the consensus is the StarHub Green prepaid. That should do her nicely. If she needs her own simcard for calls, there are heaps of places that sell very very cheap phones. For example, I bought a StarHub prepaid for visitors - and I had an old handset - I just give it to them, then they give me a few $ for their calls. No need to overcomplicate things!

Bear in mind pretty much all major networks are onto diverting mobile to international mobile, hence they don't let you do it. There is a really EXCELLENT way around it - providin g you have an available inbound number in the home country of the mobile.

As for taking a drill to the simcard, I, as many others here, are looking forward to working out how that works!

Enjoy your weekend, Mr. P

oh, another small print to be aware of for all pre-paid sim. you need to bring your passport to buy the sim. the sim will only last for 6 months from last top-up.

Hi all.

The above link should direct you to the Starhub Ez Travel Prepaid. Where they attached their sim film strip onto the punched home country sim card.

Just to complete this discussion, I got a Singtel Hi-Prepaid card which only cost me 8 SD, including 10SD value and no register fee or anything else.

Then I got a 28SD topup card giving her additional 128 SD value for oversea calls...Thanks for all the advice and explanations.
