Yea Weeles, you are right that Dr. Su has a great reputation, but unfortunately I tried to find a patient of hers and/or their pics (not the ones on her website), but it's no luck.
try insisting? maybe if you insist really hard she'll let you see some photos..tee hee. Yep, I couldn't find any other pics of her patients either..

weeles wrote:Hi UglyPiglet,

what I meant by fatty eyelids is that my upper eyelids looked puffy, even if I applied thick eyeliner, it just wouldnt show if I opened my eyes, and if I pressed the lids, I could feel the fats there. I posted my before photo here about 3 weeks ago, u can check it out.

Hm, I think dr Su tends to be firm on her decision. She will only do crease that really suits ur eye shape. I initially asked for medium parallel crease, but she insisted on doing low tapered on me, so low that if I open my eyes real wide, the crease will disappear. She said that I don't have enough space between my eyes and eyebrow. That's why I went to dr Chuang instead, I thought if I already made the decision to do my eyes, why settle for something less? well, that's just me, dont want rugi.. tee hee

I requested to see photos of her previous eyejobs, but she refused to show them, maybe due to some privacy issues? not really sure why..

You could bring some photos and tell her what type of eyes u would like to have, but don't expect that she'll 'ok' your preferences. As I said, she prefers natural crease, whatever best for your eye and facial features.

Yes, I think mini incision is also known as korean method (1 cm cut in the middle of each eyelid), and I already look ok in 1 month. Even on the 2nd week with some concealer I could already go out without sunnies. I'm not sure about the recovery period of full incision, but it'll def take longer than 1 month.

Don't worry UglyPiglet, dr. Su has great reputation, I'm sure you'll be in good hand. Or in the worst case, you can still go to another doctor :)

Hi weeles,

hv yr eyes fully recovered already? did the crease go down alot?

im trying to recall - did you do Parallel or Taper? Yours is the mini incision in the middle of the eyes with epi, right? I remember that your eyes look much nicer after the surgery :)

was there any obvious scar fm the epi? How much did you pay for the Which day did Dr Chuang remove the stitches fm your eyes?

thanks. :)

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate your opinion.
Did you have a chance to take a look at Dr. Yang from Hi-pretty double eyelids pictures or talk to him? He said he invented a procedure where the double eyelids doesn't disappear and also he can do fat removal while doing just the suturing method. What do you think of this?

Thanks
Yeah, I have seen some of the pictures posted on Hi Pretty ^_^

I guess it is just another variation of the suture method. Many doctors have come up with their own version of the suture method and given them various different names. The traditional suture method has just gone through many changes in other to improve the results... In order to ensure "stability" and prevent the weakening of the sutures, many doctors now use the double twisting method, all with their own personal approach of course. According to the doctors performing the method, they have low failure rates. In my opinion, it is still relatively new so I don't have any conclusive view on the issue. And you also brought up the fact that fats are also removed so I guess it must be some kind of 3 point suture procedure. By the way, the name itself is kind of misleading because incisions always have to be made, the difference being the size... you have to create a flesh wound to remove the fats.

Regardless of what method you decide on, I think the most important thing is to find out the pros and cons of each procedure and see if you can live with those conditions. And then find a doctor who specialises in the procedures that you have decided upon. In my opinion, I hate the suture method because the crease is ever present even if you close your eyes.

Thanks Feline.eyes,

you are right. Every procedures has its pros and cons. I also heard that the suture method will still present after you close your eyes:(

Weeles,
yup possibly. I find it uncomfortable that a surgeon is not willing to show his/her works :(

Ladies and gents,
I have a quick question that I wonder if you guys can help me with.
I have talked to two travel agencies regarding visa to Taiwan and they said that if I'm visiting Taiwan for less than 30 days, I don't need a visa (I will only be there for 10 days or less) Is this true? I would really like to confirm this.

When you go there yourself, did you get a visa?

Appreciate your input.

Hi Babyangel,

I think I still have some swelling, in the morning I still have this tight feeling, which most probably means swelling. The crease does go down, but not by that much. It's just the puffiness in the area between eyes and eyebrow that goes down quite a lot.

At first glance, it's tapered. But the doctor actually made it 'between tapered and parallel', so the crease doesn't exactly touch the inner eye corner.
Yep,I did the one point mini incision.

Yes, I still have obvious scar from epi, though its now white in color. the right eye, where the doctor cut more skin, looks worse than the left. I'm now applying dermatix silicone gel, still waiting for some improvements. :-|

I paid 35k NTD. Stitches removal on 7th day.

The final countdown

Post by kittygirl8 » Tue, 02 Dec 2008 4:04 am

Wow can't believe how time really flies, its only mere days before its finally my turn to take the plunge and fix up this nose that I have been feeling self conscious of since I was young.

Rather than feeling excited and looking forward to it, I have been feeling rather jitterly as the time draw nears - is it normal to feel this way? All sorts of negative scernario kept playing in my mind; from not ever waking up from the anesthesia, to every worst complications I can imagine and its driving me nuts.... :-(

Have any of you who have gone through rinoplasty felt the same way that I do now??

Arghhhhhhhhh...............

kittygirl I know the feeling!Although I havn't had my nose done. I was like that when I was having my breasts done, I was by myself aswell. Walking into the surgeons room I was like wtf am I doing here?!lol oh well it was over in a flash and I have no regrets. If I hadn't gone through it I would probably had started detesting myself.

Who are you having your nose done by?

Hi ukorientalgirl,

Thanks for your encouragement. Yes I do feel the same way about getting myself under the knife and all when I am perfectly healthy and why do I have to make myself go through all that....arghh.... anyway thanks for your encouragement, really appreciate that! :)

I'll be going to Dr Kao in Taiwan with another fellow countrymate from the forum.....I have initially planned to do this alone when I was planning my trip several months back - come to think of it now, thank God I found someone else to do this together with, can't imagine how I was so gungho and a HERO wannabe then lol!
Closest buddy- Cold pack
Most intimate pal - Q-tip
Biggest dilemma - Identity crisis
Worst enemies - Comedy, funny tawainese talk show

I understand what you mean though. I kept looking into things deeply and feeling guilty that I shouldn't be messing with my body when am perfectly happy and should be spending my money on better causes, BUT I know this may sound controversial but having surgery (especially my eyes) were the best decisions I've made(for myself, lol).

I too have always wanted a nose job and I just think the sooner the better. I was lucky to be given the opportunity to have my eyes done, which I did, when I was 18 and I've never looked back. I would like to go to Taiwan to have my nose and eyelashes done, am still in the early planning stages though. If I can't find anyone to go with Ill go alone if I must!

Do you know if Dr Kao does alar reduction? Where will you be travelling from may I ask? I'd like to go to Dr Kao as I think his noses are very nice! Where will you be staying? Sorry if you have already stated here, I cant keep track of all the posts here!

Hello ladies and gentlemen~! Finally in taiwan. Ok let me have a quick ones;
Alright, taiwan is so much easy to navigate with their Metrol and their High speed rail, which I'm quite fortunate that I did not get loss. But when comes to time management for appointment, I sucks. But both Dr Su and Dr Hsu are so nice to accommodate me when I last mins change the appointment time bcos can't reach their place on time.

Yesterday, just had my double eyelid surgery only, as Dr Su claim that epi would be better after my nose surgery. As she claim if I did not do my nose, epi is a must because of my mild mongolian folds. I bet she had a hard time to show me my crease during consultation which I've multiple folds due to I rub my eyes quite often and partly the mongolian folds. As can't get both eyelids crease on position for me to see as a guide. And mine is tappered with 6.5mm. Oh yeah for guys considering epi, pls do take notes; Guys are on disadvantages because of the nature that we did not put on make up, so scar will be there for all to see after removal of stiches. (If you all do not know, according to Dr Su)

Well today will be my nose surgery, after then shall have the time to post up my pictures for you all to see. Wish me lucks :D
