Really need to Migrate out of this sh*thole

Why not try to work in the UK for a while on a working holiday Visa. Lasts for 2 years & someone from Malaysia I know has ended up staying here long-term.

Not so for Australia; they're pretty forward-thinking when it comes to same sex couples.

Que ?? This is news to me ? Gonna look this one up. Can't imagine the Oz government giving the green light to same sex marriages...the people don't want it...unless the new labour government has a different view?
Feel sorry for the OP. Splatted's ideas of further studies seems a good one. Oz wants trained people in specific fields, not necessarily highly qualified but skilled labour like bakers are required always.

Wont be happening for a while the prime minister is pretty much a born again so gay people wont be able to get married for a while.

There is a massive skills shortage in Australia, they're bring workers in from Asia to work there. In terms of university trained people, you should be able to get in but more skilled labour is in higher demand.

Reason: i dont want to rot or live my whole life in this small boredom/ tourism spot country and keep on getting caLL up for my stupid reservist till i'm 40. (i'm not againts Ns, i mean itz good discipline but reservist till we're 40? c'mon... i hate the feeling that government own our asses)

VIII, try Africa. Not joking at all. I've read recently that when an African child sees any foreigner nowadays, he usually greets him with "Ni hao". China is now in Africa. The Chinese and their companies are building roads, schools, train lines etc etc everywhere in Africa. You may even marry a Chinese girl, not necessarily an African, though if you ask my French spouse, he'd probably prefer the latter. They have whiter teeth and nicer bums. Your kids will probably also have more interesting hair. Got higher chance of becoming model one day. Even here in Italy where they can be quite racist, they have recently dedicated one whole fashion issue on Black models because of Obama.

Check out Chinese companies operating in China but try to promote the fact that you know English more than anything else as if you only know Chinese why would they want you? They have more than a billion of their own guys. Hope this helps.

For one who WAS a dual passport holder and who gave it up due to his military service, let me just say, SG isn't THAT bad as you imagine! Then, if you're STILL keen on making a run for it, if you're Chinese, you can always apply for a PRC passport since one of its requirements is that your ancestry is Chinese. Japan has similiar provisions of people of Japanese ancestry, but proving it will not be so easy. If not, then you gotta try some other place, but then, your 1k doesn't seem requisite for most countries, so there you go, PROBLEM! For life lessons, may I suggest trying central asia or eastern europe, then you'll know what it feels like waking up on a winter's morning and yearning for a nice warm helping of nasi lemak topped with friendly service!! Seriously, travel a bit first, then make up your mind. Good luck.

You might want to consider Canada or Australia. It would be more help if you have degree which is on-demand over there.

Marrying someone from overseas could become tricky sometimes, most of them are ended up badly. I heard hairdresser was considered on demand in Australia as well as nursing.

Come on lah bro,Reservist till 40 won't do you any harm.I'm from the Police Force too.59 intake,and still serving for my country.Just "bear" with it for a while.That is what every Singaporean Boys gotta face.My dad also from the Police Force and he's proud that I'm serving my country....

1) Get your degree or cert in a course that is on the on demand list. Check www.dimia.gov.au to find out. Check out Form 1121i on the website.

2) Preferably try to take your degree in Aussie U. This gives you more points. They use the points system. Minimum is 120 points if I recall. A degree which is on the demand list gives you 60 if I recall correctly.

3) Make up the rest of your points to hit at least 120 (This is the toughest part). Also if you are under 30 got additional points. Then try a subclass 175 visa or any other that you find suitable.

4) Submit application recommend to do it through agent if not very troublesome. Can also try talking to IDP Australia in Singapore.

5) Pray hard that you get it.

6) Try to get some family to come with you or else can get pretty boring and lonely if you come alone.

Currently, I'm working & saving in Singapore to reach my 120 points...thank god, my occupation is on the critical skill list in Australia...but hey, working there is still another ball game....

I had my final undergraduate year in Melbourne only, so couldn't get enough points for that...=(...I have some friends there..& finding new ones hasn't been an issue for me...

Agents are valuable resources, but I heard it can be damn costly to do so? ~$10 K? I rather take a longer time & plan properly through the experiences of others who have done it themselves & save the cash.

Any other tips? Appreciate it? Btw, are you a local in Sg/ Australia?

I spent AUD 3000 on my agent. Can get good deals if you look hard. Some agents are ex-Singaporeans/Malaysians so they specialise in cases for people fom Sin/Mal.

Where in Aussie do you want to settle? If looking at Eastern side its more difficult - Overcrowded and everyone wants to go there. Try looking for work in more remote areas - e.g. WA, NT etc. Once you get you TR based on your job and fulfill the initial conditions and upgrade to PR you can go anywhere in Aus you want.

But remember what I said - Try not to come or live alone - It can be very very boring/lonesome here - bear in mind that Aus is one of the most isolated countries on Earth though it is very very nice place to settle.

Yes I am Sg citizen livin in Aus for the past 8 years and in my case I have set up family here so I look forward to walking along the beach, picnics, road trips, caravanning etc.... and I enjoy this type of laid back living so I am very happy here and Sg not suitable. However, I still go back for hols and visiting once a year to get a dose of urban life and noise after a year of queit and peace.

Very different from the things you would hope for in a cosmopolitan city like Sg.

I know many friends here who have come from Sg and from my experience most of those who are alone do not make it and go running back to Sg. Many sponsor rellys here once they get their PR.
