Need help ( Civil Engineering )

Post by skysky » Thu, 21 Aug 2008 2:42 pm

Hi,

I'm a fresh graduate Civil Engineer from Indonesia with GPA 3.35 of 4.
Right now i'm staying in singapore without any pass.

I want to ask some question:

1. How are the chances of getting a job in Singapore in Civil Engineering?
Will the company accept a foreigner?

2. How are the chances if if i applying from the internet?

3. Is my GPA good enough for Singapore's standart?

4. How much is the average salary for a Civil Engineer?

Thank you very much. I really thankful for the help.

Will the company accept a foreigner? Reasonable but not initially in a full Engineer's capacity

2. How are the chances if if i applying from the internet? Slim but do-able

3. Is my GPA good enough for Singapore's standart? (standard) Yes.

4. How much is the average salary for a Civil Engineer?

1 - CIVIL ENGINEER $3,740 (median income)
2 - CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN $2,700 (median income)
These are for companies with more the 25 staff

You would probably have to start with 2. but starting would probably be "S" pass range ~$1800/start

Thank you very much. I really thankful for the help.

Try the small medium size company, is easier if u can settle with S$2k.

if u noe autocad, good chance bcos u can start as a draughtman cum engr position. the sme need yr engineer brains but sorry can pay u draughtmen salary first till you hv proven yr salt.

Most sme boss quite kind, just talk to them nicely. if they like yr attitude they will give u a job.

Many chinese lady engrs also start that way. here is the british code i think. go the national reference library at bugis to research now u so free.

structural jobs now is hot. clerk of works, resident engrs, project mgr, design engrs all in great demand but must have local spore experience.

Good luck , kawan.

Moli,

Can you PLEASE type using the full keyboard. Most of the poster here are foreigners so don't understand that garbage you call English. You give a bad impression when you type like that. This is not as phone keyboard with only 165 spaces to type in you message.

Thanks
