MEDICAL EXAMINATION - work visa

Post by swanz » Tue, 05 Aug 2008 10:38 pm

Can anyone help?

Currently, applicants for a work permit are required to undergo a medical examination, which includes a general physical medical examination, a chest x-ray and a test HIV.

What happens if you pass the chest x-ray and HIV test, but fail one of the general medical tests e.g. you have an enlarged liver...do you still qualify for a visa or not? Does anyone know what happens in such circumstances?

thx...

I could be wrong because I AM NOT A LAWYER... but the general medical exam seems to be geared towards the number of limbs you have, a regular breathing test, and the expectation that you look somewhat human. Translated: The Sing govt is screening for extremely expensive or communicable diseases. Unless you've got something that makes you stick out, no worries.
