MUSSELS are pronounced as MUSSELS,
& UN
CLE is pronounced as UN-kel,
then why is MUSCLE not pronounced as MUS-kel?

The same reason that METRE is not pronounced ME-tree and CENTRE is not pronounced CEN-tree.
