Cough - KOFF
Tough - TUFF
Through - THROO
Bough - BOW
Thought - THOT
Dough - DOE
Slough - SLUFF

if MUSSELS are pronounced as MUSSELS,
& UNCLE is pronounced as UN-kel,

then why is MUSCLE not pronounced as MUS-kel? :P

The same reason that METRE is not pronounced ME-tree and CENTRE is not pronounced CEN-tree. :P
