Hello? What? Hello?

Post by Strong Eagle » Thu, 17 Mar 2005 4:23 pm

I'm finding that I am beginning to say, "Could you repeat that" just a few too many times. I think it is time for a hearing aid.

Can anyone recommend a good specialist and/or the type of hearing aid that works best. I've heard horror stories about hearing aids but I've got to do something.

TIA

SE I am truly saddened by your dilema but have you tried visiting the ENT Deptartment located at NUH. I hear the doctors/specialists over there are very proffessional and cute  The type of hearing aid I would recommend is the one that is fairly invisible to the naked eye and fits like a glove inside your inner ear :!: I am trying to think of the name but sorry it escapes me :(

Good luck and keep posting your progress :D

There is a specialist in Ngee Ann City called Ace Hearing Centre. Highly recommended by ENTs from Mt E. Check them out.

That is interesting. I didn't know that you could go back that far!

Any way what did you do in the end, SE? Curious to find out what you discovered. Was it really your hearing or was it ear wax?

It would appear that our dredger is probably an advertiser as they have registered and made only two posts, both dredging up old posts to refer to a the same shop. I think the third post will probably bring the hammer down.

What? What? Yes, I did end up buying hearing aids... absolute necessity for the work I do... many meetings and con calls with folks who speak English as a second language.

The 'ears' are OK... amplify high frequency sounds so that I can distinguish between 's', 't', 'k' and such. But not so hot in loud, noisy situations.

Reminds me of the old joke: A fellow is going on and on about how great his new hearing aid is. His friend asks, "What kind is it?" The fellow replies, "Quarter after eleven."

Of course, there is an upgraded product available with better sound processing... mine for only $6,000 per ear. Yikes! Then again, I just take 'em out and I can ignore everyone.

Mom's been saying the same thing for years.
