How about bad breath?
I heard that bad breath actually has little to do with your oral hygiene, rather it is due to indigestion, is that true?

hi... the laser whitening system (usually zoom) does work. of course the effect varies amongst different patients but generally most ppl get a good result they are satisfied with. you might not need whitening if the stains are due to smoking though. prob can clean the stains off with various materials.
how much is the laser whitening cost? is it a permanent removal?

was in bangkok in dec and enquired at a few dental clinics.
there are 2 prevailing systems - laser teeth whitening and britesmile

laser teeth whitening costs abt SGD 500, while Britesmile is around SGD 800-900. I was told that Britesmile can achieve more shades of whiteness, and will be less likely to cause sensitvity.

price still a bit steep for me. i remember the last time i went dentist, he used a whitening gel that cost around $50 and it lasted somewhere between 4-6 mths... will stick to that for now :)

hi just to answer some qns:
the prices you quoted are quite different from sg. u are rite that its usually either laser whitening (zoom) or brite smile.
one uses laser, the other uses chemicals.
usually laser whitening is more expensive than britesmile though.
laser costs 800-1200, depending on where you go.
brite smile is ard 600. maybe you got it mixed up?

the whitening gel u mentioned merely sticks on the tooth surface.
its like a coat around the tooth and doesn't whiten the tooth intrinsically.
as expected its not that great cuz when you haf bits flaking off after some time, it looks weird.

not entirely true.
bad breath may and usually is caused by poor oral hygiene.
you are right though, indigestion or gastric problems can cause that too.
smoking is another common cause.
other less common causes also include lung infections etc.

hi mikedirnt,
laser whitening would cost anywhere between 800-1200 SGD.
no its not permanent but usually the effects lasts for 3 - 5 yrs.
if u work it out, that works out to be around 200 plus per yr or about 20 dollar a month.
pretty worth it for a beautiful smile right? :D

teeth whitening

Post by babyangel » Tue, 12 Feb 2008 10:52 pm

Hi,

Has anyone tried any of the whitening methods i.e. Britesmile, Zoom Or Fabulous Smile & has very good results?

Im thinking of going for teeth whitening & trying to decide which of the above to go for.

Cheers. :)
