Dr Chuang

Post by ellin18 » Thu, 10 Jan 2008 3:35 pm

Hi All,

As you all remember, i went to Dr Chuang's clinic for rhino and mephor chin last year august. Here is my update:

Nose: A lot of my friends said that it is very natural. After the surgery i was actually quite disappointed with Dr Chuang's skill. However, as i mentioned a couple of times before, he is a very conservative man and only do natural rhino with silicon unless, we communicate to him that we are actresses or on request .for garotex implant etc. Normally Dr. Chuang comfortable using silicon because it is safe and easy extraction. So far, my implant does not slant to the left or right and in fact it is very rigid and stable.

Chin: My chin is still very stiff.. I still feel very tight where the stitches used to be esp when I smile. I really hope the stitches wound heal well.. At times I am afraid that when i smile too wide, the wound will open... Anyho.. I am a much confident person now compared to last time where smile was a big no no to me.

The moral or lesson that i learned from this experience is that only do PS when you are mentally, physically and financially ready. Do lots of research and dont be lazy. I can guarantee you that at the end of that long road, your reward is priceless... like your new confident :)

I'm in korea now :) I'm still trying to research on which surgeon is good, not considering BK clinic though as I somehow don't feel good after hearing comments on them. As for laser, I heard there's this clinic who specialise in laser:

http://www.wooskin.co.kr

You can try this place for laser.

I'm new here and I have some questions regarding plastic surgery in korea. I'm not a korean myself but I'm going to korea soon. so I would like to ask you guys whether there is a plastic surgery clinic in seoul which you would recommend.
I don't want to change my feature completely I just want to look a "bit better". as I haven't ever a plastic surgery in korea before I don't know how much an operation costs. of course plastic surgery is not cheap if you want to have it done naturally; but i have to consider about my budget as well.
what I would like to have it done is: facelifting, luposuction from the belly area, eye laser and laser for my freckles.
sounds a lot... and sounds like as if I want to change myself completely  :D
if one of you could tell me which one is reasonable in price and safe and does a good job, I'll be very thankful.

Best regards,
Lis.
Hmmm... what should I do next? Cheekbone reduction maybe?

i've got 2 emails from dr hsu now saying that i should go for artificial ones instead since i expressed concerns about the scar and the pain. am still keeping dr jung in mind, but would really want to go to dr hsu.

yes, summer in taiwan is expensive and hot, but as i've explained earlier, i have no choice. thanks for your input anyway.

donation cartilage? that will still be foreign material... hmm gotta have a real think about that... thanks for your input :) is the scar at the ear visible for ear cartilage?

Hi Christmas,

The donation cartilage should has a very few rate of rejection (can someone confirme this?), look at all those Hollywood stars, do you see a scar on their body when they wear bikini?

The scars of ear cartilage? I can’t see the them, they are behind my ears hidden by my hairs. Actually I don’t mind I have long curly-loose hairs.

Hi Christmas,

I didn’t squeeze them. After my first surgery, I had 3 small holes, after the 2sd, they became bigger :( It was 38-40 degrees in Shanghai... Is it fresher in your place? Where are you located? I think there is something to do with “foreign body”

Oui, vous avez raison... mais je pense elles sont tous qui emploient le sillicone? Les Caucasiens ne doivent pas utiliser des implants aussi...? Je ne sais pas.

I think I will go ahead with Dr Hsu after all - Korea is a little beyond my budget. As for the rib cut... I think I will get him to make it a little higher. Thank you so much for your input :)

Hi Jovin,

Thank you for the link. unfortunately they don't have an e-mail address I will call them tomorrow.

You are in korea right now?? how long are you going to stay there? Have you found some clinics yet? What do you want to do? there are a few I found - try them if you like:
http://gwanak.seoulps.co.kr/main/main.asp
http://www.jelimps.com/
http://www.iaanclinic.com/

you mentioned that bk clinic is not so great? I thought just famous people such as actress are visting bk...

is not easy to find something...

regards,
Lis

Christmas,

Bonjour, vous etes francaise?
Le silicone est tres peu utilise aux Etats-Unis/en Europe, etant donne que les caucasiens ont la peau fine...

Anyway, you still have time and I advise you to do more research.

Bonne Chance en tout cas!

Can anyone tell me the advantages of using ear cartilage vs septal cartilage to shape the tip? I want a high tip that is slightly upturned looking. My doctor (Dr Tseng) only uses ear cartilage but some other docs tell me septal cartilage is harder which creates a sharper tip.
From what I've heard is that the absorbtion rate of septal cartilage is higher than ear cartilage. Can somebody pls confirm on this?

I dont pretend to know it all. But, from my own experience and certainly through research and the opinion of surgeons, am of the opinion that septal cartilage is stronger than ear cartilage. Thus, it should make sense that absoption rate is slower in the former albeit one must remember that warping is still a common "problem" with autologous material.

Have a Korean friend whose nose was implanted with rib cartilage (strongest & more abundant, regular in shape) only to find out his bridge had curved or gave way to warping 2 months post surgery. With each surgery, the internal nasal structure becomes weaker and weaker and thus affect healing. There are, of course, those who have been "lucky" and got much satisfaction out of it without (or little) warping as it continues to survive (cartilage) inside the nose.

I cannot emphasize enough nasal surgery is a big gamble, you win some, you lose some- not even the surgeon could predict what is to happen post surgery- only time will tell and do the "talking" for you. I wouldnt like to think it is a crap shoot, but know one must be mentally and emotionally prepared for the worst and deal with it maturely. It pays to have an honest and honourable surgeon who will stand behind his/her name- priceless from my experiences.

Above all, be kind & HONEST with yourself.

Good luck to all.

Kwell
