Sometimes it is good to start all over again. If humans can just erased their memories, the world may be a better place to lived in. Agree?

I saw Hello84' nose, not really that spectacular as in Dr Toriumi or Dr Chuang's job on Cupidz-san, however it may be due to the implant used and the type of requested nose by the patient.

I have to consider too that different people will have their personal preferences of what a ideal nose is, as such it is very hard to tell what is nice from what aren't. A man's meat can be another's poison.

Hi all, I'm going back for a revision rhinoplasty with Dr Chuang end december. It's gonna be free as the first surgery was not successful. Well, implant was not straight, and leans to the right. :( Anyone knows where can i get the swelling medicine "SinEech"?

Was just thinking if anyone had facial contouring (cheekdone shaving) to have a longer oval face before in korea?

Anyone also visited Dr Woffles Wu for surgery before, am thinking of going to him for eyebag removal. Any kind replies are deeply appreciated!! Thanks!

I am going to operate at the end of this year and I was wondering if 2 months is enough to look normal and presentable to others.

I'm going to do my eyebag as while, does any one has any experience with Dr Chuang or Jung? Thanks.
As mentioned above in my post, I'm going back to Dr Chuang for revision. Honestly, I personally feel that my nose looks fake. The bridge is too high and too broad! :( The implant is not in the middle and it is able to shift from left to right and vice versa just by gently pressing it. Hopefully the revision will fix those issues, I don't ask for much, just want a natural nose with slim and straight implant :P

And yes, it will definitely look normal and presentable in 2 months, actually, just two weeks is enough for just a rhinoplasty. Do take SinEech! I heard it helps alot in deswelling, I did not take that during my first surgery when I did my nose, cheek lipo and lip reduction and the post-op was disastrous. So if any kind souls out there who knows where can i get the medicine, please let me know

I wanna do eyebag removal too!! But i shortlisting dr jung from korea or woffles wu. Woffles wu gonna charge double of what dr jung is charging, but if he's as good, i wouldn't mind. Any experiences or opinions to share? Thanks!

Kalyn,

How long are you going to be in Taipei. I am going to see Dr. Chuang too beginning of January. Would you mind PM'g please. I was wondering if we can meet up or something and accompany each other. Where are you staying? I don't speak Mandarin and therefore might be slow in getting my ways around the city. It also help if you have company.

BTW, you might want to read up on reviews of this doc you were inquiring about before consider surgery:

Hi babe,

How long did you wait before Dr Chuang agreed to do revision for you?
I did rhino, epi n double eye lid surgery in oct but the results are disappointing.

My nose bridge is too high and too broad(jacky chan looka like) as well.
And my eyes are not balanced too but Dr Chuang kept asking me to wait, saying i'm experiencing uneven swelling now. However i really doubt that's the case.

Really wish to solve the rpoblems by cny

Hey Tinklegal,

Would you mind me asking what rhinoplasty procedure did you went for? I think depending on the kind of procedure apply such as using Gortex, Silicone and owner's cartilage varies in healing. Gortex seens to settle in much more quicker than other materials being use. By the way did you take any medication for bruising and swolleness?

Well I hope you're healing well.

asian rhinoplasty

Post by moonlight_pmdct » Mon, 10 Dec 2007 12:10 am

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I have tried to read through the 500's pages. They were really helpful, but I couldn't read through all of them :o . I'm very interested in getting a rhinoplasty. From what I have gathered so far, I saw a few plastic surgeons: Dr. Jung in Korea, Dr. Kim (BK clinic) in korea, Dr. Chuang in Taipei, Dr. Toriumi in Chicago, and Dr. Davis in Florida (if you have more suggestions, please let me know). However, I personally don't know anyone who has done his/her surgery by any one of these doctors.

If you have done a rhinoplasty by any of these surgeons, please share your experiences, your advices, and what you like or dislike.

How did you choose one surgeon versus the others?
If you have pictures and don't mind sharing, they will greatly help me.

If you have comments or pictures, but don't want to post it in the public. please add me to your yahoo messenger or send me an email at : [email protected]

Thank you so much for sharing. Any advice or comment that you have for me will help me a lot and is greatly appreciated. Thank you thank you

Hihi Tinklegirl...

So you are saying your eyes are very swollen and all right at 2 weeks?

I had double eyelid by Dr Chuang too.. and it takes about 2 months to look more natural... so dont worry too much.. I suggest waiting it out and continue doing warm compress.

At 2 weeks for eyelid surgery, its wayyyy too early to decide if its nice or not nice.
Because for eyes.. they tend to swell up easily... like if tonight you drink alot of water, tomorrow when you wake up, your eyes will be more swollen as well.......(just an example)

so dont worry ok :)
New nose please~

By the way, you might like to reconsider going to famous doctors such as.....W.W... I have recently heard a very bad story about him.. from his patient.

Here is a summary of what happened:-Doctor showed patient a video of good and bad nose jobs.
Bad nose jobs = implant moving obviously
Good nose jobs = implant NOT moving.. in which he says that he has a special technique which enables him to make GOOD nose jobs for no scar rhinoplasty.. NOT moving implants. its also called the Closed rhinoplasty.

He says that he charges higher $$ because he has this special technique... which is fine right? (as long as you can do the job well)

Anyway, he did a NO scar.. rhinoplasty on this patient... and after sometime the patient complained that his implant is moving... they asked him to wait it out... till 6 months.

At 6 months. it was STILL moving.. when the patient touches and moves his nose tip, the implant moves left to right too... obviously.
He went back to the doctor, since its already 6 months.

HOWEVER, this doctor then replied... that its NORMAL to have the implant moving! (eating back what he said earlier) and that its not a 100% that he can place the implant correctly...

So not only did he accept that this job is not done well and to do revision for the patient, he denies and of course never offered revision.

Also, before the surgery, he told the patient that he will make ONE incision... but during the operation, he made TWO incisions without permission from the patient.

I dont know what you guys think... but hell....... is this professional?

He paid SGD 6000++ for bridge works ONLY.

Re posting on my surgery trip in korea

Post by Jang » Tue, 11 Dec 2007 3:56 am

Hi all,

Me and PS Buddies are back from our Korea enhancement trip with Dr Kim Byung Gun in "BK Dongyang Plastic Surgery Clinic"

Day 1:
Tue 6th Nov, 7 of us were there at his clinic 3pm for our consultation.
We were lead to a room to wait for consultation, and not long later Dr Kim came in and introduce himself and saying later his consultant will help us to do a brief consultation before he attend to us.

First group that Dr Kim attended :

(Gal G) wanted to do an revision of rhinoplasty which she had done it in Singapore 4times and fail. And she is also requested for chin augmentation.
When Dr Kim, saw her nose he said that her current implant that her previous doctor insert was so high and also very dangerous because it may pertrude out which just like what happen before to her on her 2nd times Surgery which left her a dimple scare on her nose.

He said he will take the current L implant out, insert an lower I implant in for her which is more safe for her. And will do an silicone implant for her chin.

(Gal A) wanted an double eyelids surgery which looks natural.
Dr Kim examine her and suggested an double eyelid cum magic epi for her coz her eyes was abit far apart, and when Dr Kim asking her how she wanted your eyelid fold to be like, she told him that leave it to him to decided which will look good for her.

(Gal K) wanted and revision eyelid surgery which had done it twice in Singapore and fail. First time was it Jan'07 Stitching Method, second time Feb'07 Incision Method.
The first thing that Dr Kim said to her was, she got and hollow eyelid below her eyebrow and with her eyes protruding out. And to let her to had an permerant double eyelids with just normal double eyelid won't solve her problem, the chances of the fold to disappear is 60%. What he suggested is to have fats grafting to fill her hollow sac in eyelid below her eyebrow and that have an double eyelids Surgery, and this will solve her problem but he also did mention the chances of she might lose the fold was 10%.

(Myself) wanted to enhance my puffy eyelids and higher nose bridge.
As of my turn to let Dr Kim to examine, he was looking on my face and jokingly said,"You got an beautiful nice fold and I think you don't need any surgery he smiling at me. I told him, I hate my puffy eyelids, also wanted to have a bigger eyes and have a higher bridge. An he pick up his twister and poke on my eyelid saying he will make my fold higher and remove abit of fats and for my nose he will make my bridge a bit higher with ear cartilage graft on my tip to make it more natural.

(Gal L) wanted an higher nose bridge and correct her flat side profile of her face.
As Dr Kim was examining her face, and told her he can have the same procedure like mine to enhance her nose and Fat grafting on her face to correct her flat side profile.

As for the Second group which the other 2 gals who Dr Kim attended was enquiring Nipple Reduction & Areolar Reduction, and I was not present in the consulation so couldn't really share this topic.
All I knew was, both gals wanted this procedure with the tactic which leave mininal scar by cutting the skin starting from the nipple side to reduce the size of the Areolar.

(Gal M)Dr Kim said, Nipple can be reduce but as for the tactic she wanted to reduce Areola cannot be used cos her's is too wide so need to used another method that need to cut along the Areola.

(Gal N)Dr Kim said, her doesn't need any nipple reduction but she can have Areolar reduction with the method she asked for.

There after the consulation, we were lead to a room to confirm out surgery cost and timing.

Next day schdule for surgery,
9 a.m for Gal A (Double Eyelid cum Magic Epi)
10 a.m for Gal L (Rhinoplasty cum Fat Grafting)
11 a.m for Gal G (Revisional Rhinoplasty cum Chin Augmentation)
12 p.m Myself (Double Eyelid cum Rhinoplasty)
1 p.m Gal K (Revisional Double Eyelid cum Fat Grafting)

And for the other 2 gals couldn't decide on the spot so we just go ahead with the schdule Dr Kim arrange for us.

Day 2 ~ SURGERY DAY

9 am for Gal A (Double Eyelid cum Magic Epi)
10 am for Gal L (Rhinoplasty cum Fat Grafting)
11 am for Gal G (Revision Rhinoplasty cum Chin Augmentation)
12 pm Myself (Double Eyelid cum Rhinoplasty)
1 pm Gal K (Revision Double Eyelid cum Fat Grafting)

Gal A & Gal L surgery time was one hour after each another so they headed to BK Clinic very early in the morning about 8:30am.
As for the rest of us, we there about 10:30am.

When we were there, Gal G went in to get ready for her surgery. For me & Gal K, our surgery was 1hour after another so I went to check on Gal A to see if her surgery was done and I found out that the surgery actually started at 10am.
Around 11am, a nurse escorted Gal A out of the surgery room to recovery room. I and Gal K went in to see her, she was still sober with her cold pack on her eyes. I asked her how she was feeling and she said she was ok throughout the surgery, except when Dr Kim was doing her Magic Epi along the lower cilia of her eyes she felt it but the pain was still bearable. I tried to comfort her, and also I help her to take a few pictures of her eyes after the surgery.
Here is the crop picture of Gal A after surgery : Image

Gal L was escort out by the nurse from the surgery room to recovery room around noon. Before I can go and see her, we were all called in to Dr Kim room to have our last consultation before going to the surgery room.

Dr Kim gave us a quick explanation about how he is gonna perform the surgery on our face.
When I was in the room with him, he pick up a marker and start drawing on my eyelid and said the he will create my eyelid fold abit higher than my current fold. He also mention that after the surgery my eyelid fold might look very high but it will be more natural in several months time. As for nose, he said he will make my bridge higher and used my ear cartilage to make my tip sharper.
This is what Dr Kim drew on my eyelid : Image And with my eyes open : Image

Right after 3 of us came out his room, Gal G went in to the surgery room and I went to see Gal A & L because they are in the same room. And Gal A wanted to go down for a puff so I accompany her down to the clinic and also I had my last puff of cigarette before my surgery.

ME IN SURGERY ROOM

When I came up, immediately I was called in to the surgery room……
As I was lead to a surgery bed, the nurse just asked me to lie down without me changing any of my clothes and they start to tie my hands on both side. I was laid on the very right side of the surgery room, and I could see another partition up on my left side of the surgery room behind which I thought Gal G was lying. I could hear Dr Kim’s voice speaking in Korean instructing nurses.
And one of the nurses started using a pair of scissors to cut my nostril hair, and the other one trying to put IV drip. After that they shift my head to the left and the put the green surgery cloth with a hole that fit into my face and right ear. And they started cleaning my face and back of my ear. At that moment I start to become scared…and I was thinking how come I’m still awake???
One moment I saw Dr Kim walking through the wards. I was relieved and I called out “Dr Kim…”

Hi all,

I’d like to share my experience that I had gone through during the recovery stage of my rhinoplasty. Unfortunately, I developed an infection and I had my inserts removed. Though it was an unfortunate development, I thought I should share it with you all and have you understand the possibilities that you could face.

Till 12thday of surgery, my nose and eyelids were healing well. On that night, I went to Balaclava to celebrate my colleague B’day and they order finger foods like: Sotong ball, Top shell and chicken stick. I took for granted and ate them including Top shell.
And the next day, I also ate Laksa which the soup base ingredient got small shrimp and cockles. That night, my nose bridge swell and it started to hurt.
On the 14th day, I went to Tan-Teoh Clinic to remove my ear stitches and I asked Doc to prescribe medicine for my nose coz it hurts. She told me I got infected, and she prescribe me 1 week worth of antibiotic. I told my boyfriend about it and he immediately call Dr Kim asked him what I should do to the infection. He said antibiotic for few days and see how, if the pain gets worse, call him and let him know.
Initially, my swell seemed to come down a little. After a week, when I was washing my face, I noticed a lump in my left nostril!
Image
I nearly fainted, immediately I took a picture and send it to Dr Kim. That night was really a long night, worry and couldn’t sleep well.
The next day, my boyfriend accompanies me to Tan-Teoh Clinic for review on my infected nose. While we were waiting, Dr Kim called my boyfriend and break a Bad News to me, he saw my mail and he told my boyfriend that my implant have to be removed immediately, if not it will not recover well. He suggested us to get local doc to remove it cos it is a very simple procedure and it take less than 5mins.
So when my turn to see the local Doc, I asked her if she can remove the implant and how long is the procedure. She said fastest 30mins, if longer it might take 1-2hrs and it cost $500++. Goodness! really scared me. So I just told her that I’ll consider and I got more antibiotic first. In my heart, I said NO!, I rather fly back to Dr Kim and he can do it for me free and safe.

So immediately, I book a ticket to fly back there. Next day, 21 days after surgery, I took a Korean Air’s night flight back to Korea. Next morning, I reached Dr Kim’s clinic at 11am, and I was lead to the surgery room immediately. A nurse asked me to lie down and she said Dr Kim will be coming in soon.
After waiting for a short while, Dr Kim came in and he check on my nose and squeeze it *ouch* that's really hurt! And he started cleaning inside and outside my nose area, then the nurse put the "Green Surgery Cloth" on my face and in my mind I was thinking why never put Local Aesthetic for me? And Dr Kim keep distracting me by talking to me saying, it will be done less than a minute don't worry as he was talking, he is holding on to my nose and all of a sudden I feel him using something to poke the infected area just outside of my left nostril within a second, I feel something rushing out of my nostril, wow that moment, my tear also splash out together. I keep saying "Har..Har.."And Dr Kim say is ok now, the implant is out and was cleaning inside my nostril and keep pushing down from my bridge to my tip clearing the pulse inside.
The whole procedure was very fast, only 5 minutes. Even after he had finish I’m still grabbing my both hands so tightly on the bed coz I’m still crying:cry: when the nurse helping me to wipe my tears away, I noticed Dr Kim holding my hands comforting me saying that everything is fine now, he could tell that I'm really pain when he was removing my implant & pulse. He told me that my nose will swell abit for few days and when it recover he will insert a new implant for FREE  and later he asked the nurse to jab antibiotic on my butt.
He told me that I must keep my nostril clean after the surgery to avoid possible infection. Then, I remembered we went to a barbecue restaurant one day after the surgery and inhaled a lot of barbecue smoke. I am sure it contributed.
I rested in a recovery room for a while. Image
Dr. Kim prescribed me antibiotic for 2 weeks and also he wants me to go to his clinic to let his nurse to clean my nostril till I leave Korea.
I was there in Korea for 4days, on the last day I went for the final cleaning and Dr Kim came and check on my nose before I come back to Sin. I noticed my bridge is higher than before and I asked him and he replied that it is normal.

I also asked him how come my eyes still looks swell like got sausage in between my eyelids, he jokingly said that's not sausage don't worry the swell will take several weeks to Deswell. But he offered me a jab that will make my eyelids Deswell rapidly but he said that the jab will be very painful, of cos I accepted his offer.
OMG, I tell you the jab was really painful. I feel warm on my eyelids after the jab, this is the picture. Image
Up till today after my surgery about a month plus, my nose is alright now and my double eyelid swell went down quite a lot.
Now, I am taking good care of my nose and preparing for my surgery trip in March to redo my rhinoplasty with the next group of us the gals.
It was an unfortunate but a valuable experience and I know what to do and not to do to avoid possible infections for future surgeries for me and other girls.
Here’s the picture how I look from : BeforeImageImage
