Good inexpensive Hotel in Spore

Post by SingHereIcome » Wed, 15 Dec 2004 7:08 pm

Hello to all the good people in Singapore!

We are visiting Sing on our way to London from Sydney.
Anyone to recommend a good inexpensive hotel to stay (if there is such a thing as good and same time inexpensive). Does anyone have an opinion on the FURAMA CHINATOWN?

We have stayed in the Le Meridian Orchard Rd (v.good but hotel is so-so), Phoenix Orchard (exc location but boring hotel+expensive), Swisotel Stamford Rd (best so far, exc views but crowded with people everywhere+ also expensive).

Don't mind not been in CBD this time.

PS. No hotel agents please

Cheers!

FURAMA CHINATOWN - This hotel is near to Chinatown. Personally, I don't like the hotel.

Merchant Court Hotel - You can try this hotel. Next to the North East Line (MRT). Behind Clarke Quay

Thanks to Cookikoh and Guest...

The  ! We always make it an appoint to stop at this fantastic city of yours and we can prob say we have got to know it quite well. Our most recent "pleasant" discovery was Chinatown and how the whole place was done up and done up tastefully and the dim sum.. yummy. That was why we choose the Furama nearby, also some friends had stayed there + gave good feedback.

It is always nice to hear people's experience about their hotel stays
rather than rely totally on web-sites only. Afterall hotels are as important as the holiday itself! (Tats wot we think anyway)

Thanxs again. :D :D :D

And they've doubled their prices after they were picked by TIME as Asia's Best Boutique Hotel for 2004. :?

If you're going to stay in a hotel in Singapore you might as well spend a few bucks extra and get a real 5*... Swissotel Stamford and Conrad Centennial both regularly go for S$150-180 on the 'Net if you book in advance.
