Hairdresser that cuts caucasian hair

Post by peppercorn girl » Tue, 17 Jul 2007 10:17 pm

Does anyone know of a great hairdresser in Singapore that cuts and styles caucasian hair. I am missing my UK hairdresser. I usually have a long hair cut and foils.

Thanks - in need of a colour and cut ;)

Tough one. The few that are good and bearable to spend an hour or two with (not the hyperactive chinese ones) are hard to find.

I have always found the saloon on the second floor of Manadarin Hotel on Orchard road to be a good one.

Alice is the name of the director, forgot the name of the saloon itself.

She's very good, but expensive as well.

I was just in Australia for 2 months and got my hair done back there - but in a few weeks ill need to get the foils done again for re growth - so i was looking for a hairdresser as well... might check that one out - thanks!
Maybe Singapore should be called the "Sunburnt Country" instead of Australia....
I seem to be getting more "sunburnt" here then i did back home lol!

I found this hairdresser advertised in Expat Living - http://www.lepapillon.com.sg/ not sure whether it looks great or too over the top.
Has anyone heard of them?

I might try the hairdresser at teh Manadarin Hotel.
Thanks

I had a great experience at Alexandre Casta Hair on Aliwal Street with a guy called Stefan. He did a great job on long hair highlights and does a great cut. I was also pleased wth the price. Can't find the telephone number at the moment but will post it up here. I couldn't wait to go back to Australia this time to get my hair done, and he was recommended to me. Very pleased.

after living in asia for 4 years i've learned from experience (bad ones) you should use a colorist for color and stylist for style. i can 100% recommend toni & guy in hereen plaza. i've had my hair colored 3x with chaya and she's excellent with caucasion hair. i've had my hair styled by quester - but he's the style director and quite expensive. worth it for me as i'm trying to grow out my hair and trying to avoid as many 'bad stages' as possible (read: barrettes and hairbands - haha).
hope this helps!

Toni & Guy / Essensuals

Post by Amelia Camelia » Fri, 20 Jul 2007 9:36 am

hi,

I know there are branches of Toni and Guy here in Singapore - I actually went to Essensuals - which is an offshoot of Toni & Guy. It's located in the Starhub building just behind Centrepoint on Orchard Road.

I'm really happy with the way my hair was cut - it's definitely a lot more contemporary than any of the other haircuts I've had here in Singapore and a lot more like my hair was cut back in London.

Hope this helps

Essensuals

Post by Amelia Camelia » Fri, 20 Jul 2007 9:46 pm

http://www.essensuals.co.uk/07/index.ph ... =salon.htm

That's the website for info..

51 Cuppage Road
#01-11 Starhub Building
Singapore 229469
Tel - 67362212
Fax - 67362213

They're basically a cheaper version of Toni & Guy. The colourist prices are on the website too I think...

take care

There is a great hairdresser at WEST MALL near Bukit Batok MRT and she is great at cutting westerners hair.

Her name is Joyce and she works at PRO TRIM. For $26.00 you get a shampoo, cut and a nice long head massage.

Maybe West Mall is too far for some of you, buty if anyone lives out near Clemanti or Jurong then it is worth it. :-)
