How to find a (non-Web) graphic designer?

Post by jpatokal » Mon, 14 May 2007 4:07 pm

So I need to find somebody to design an entire book for me, of the old-fashioned pulped trees kind, and unlike dime-a-dozen Web designers, this seems to be a bit of rarefied art. I have, of course, posted on the lovely Singapore Expats Classifieds, but I'm not sure that this is where young, hungry art grads hang out. Any bright ideas on where else to look? :???:

Maybe a bulletin board at LaSalle? Just a thought.

The same thought occurred to me, but it just seems so... retro. But I just might give it a shot...

I have a friend that i use for my own business and im confident that he'll go the extra mile to meet your needs. I know it sounds cliche, me promoting my friend... But this guy really is a talent.

Let me know if you are interested. Email (or PM) me.

A bit of digging up reveals that there is a Singapore Art eXchange forum run by Lasalle; unfortunately, it's one of those typical Singapore boards where you need to register before they let you even see anything, and unsurprisingly it's kinda comatose (my post today was the first in two months).

Hi jpatokal - you need that if you self publish. If not your publisher should be able to handle the layout for you.

Deadline is May 31st -- but if clicking the link above is asking too much, then you're probably not the person we need. :o

Then you obviously did not even bother to read the whole thread either did you? How can you overlook when he tells you it's the link?

JP, I think I agree with your assessment.
