Hairdresser

Hi, I found a great hairdresser. Her name is Pauline and she works out of NK in Parkway Parade. She worked in London for a while and she is the first Asian I have found to do my hair "western" style. She did highlights on me recently and they are superb. Her blow dry is fantastic too, :)

I tried Passion with David Gan. He is very good but very pricey. He charges S$309 per cut/trim.

I go to a lovely place for hair and beauty called Mahogany on Killiney Road just outside Somerset MRT... Round the corner from the Dubliner too which is great on a Saturday for lunch....

Try Toni & Guy at The Heeren. David Mercer does a fantastic cut & he's British, so very skilled with Western hair.

Hi,
I just went from hair about 12 inches long to a very short style! I saw Jo at Toni & Guy in Holland Village and she was AMAZING! SHe listened (simple know but very rare in my expereince here) and she explained each step to me when she cut it. I am so very happy with the cut and the colour too that I recommend her 200%

Give her a try, she is brilliant!

There's a good hairdresser that charges reasonabe price as well. No point paying exhorbitant prices for a haircut here. You could go to Sammy Salon at Aljunied. The hairstylists are extremely skilful and professional. Best of all, there are a few stylist who specialises in modern hairstyles. Go check it out.

I was just going to post this same question. I went to 2 hair saloons around Orchard Rd and I was most disappointed. Im mixed raced and have naturally wavy hair. They were not very good at handling my hair even for a normal wash and blow. I'll try Tony & Guy I guess...

Bad blonde hair experience in Singapore!!!

Post by newtotown » Tue, 14 Aug 2007 1:11 pm

have blonde hair and I was deperate for a touch up so I went to Esprite who charged me a fortune $450 for the director to do my hair.

Firstly he never even applied the colour or styled it, he has a junior do it who took hours, after that they applied a $150 treatment which I never knew about and they never asked me if I wanted it. Then for the final outcome they turned my hair bright orange. I was devastated. He knew I was unhappy as I refused to pay the full amount but he never offered to fix it and I felt uneasy about asking.

My saviour is Jackey Tan from Jeric Reds salon in Suntec City Mall on 6337-7811. He actually listened to me and gave me a full consultation, applied the colour himself and charged me a fraction of the cost. He even styled it with GHD style straighteners to give it some curls and the result was what I had initially asked for. I can't recommend him high enough!

I really hope this helps.

David from Toni & Guy is truly amazing I have to say.. he saved my hair from a hack job from one of the other senior stylists there and what he did was incredible but this was for free luckily as i think he is slightly more expensive. Try Alexandre Casta on Aliwal street as a lot of my blonde friends go there and are very happy with blonde - not yellow!- hair.

Ok I take back my earlier comments about Mahogany after disasterous hair colouring.... Thanks for the comments about Toni & Guy - are they used to Caucasian hair though? Some places over here colour the hair and dont even check it, dont do the right colour mix and to be honest charge a fortune for a half assed job! end of rant... At the moment I wait til I am back in the UK to get hair cut and coloured, so until i find a good one here then I remain sceptical.... No ending up with funny coloured hair again!

64624812 James. He used to be in HV, Soda Salon. He has moved to that big new mall half way down Orchard road...I have been going to him for 4 years and he is terrific. His cutting is great :D
