i have slight gummy smile and my teeth is push out slightly too..
thats why im thinking of pushing my teeth inwards, yanhee replied me saying i'll need to put on bracers and cost usd$ 500
but putting on braces is just to push in, will it correct the gummy smile problem?

anyone knows the cost of braces in sg?

iamdanny, i already slept sideway but immediately shift face up again when i realised.. somemore my hand knocked against the implant that day when sleeping

USD500? so cheap? the website stated usd1400/1800. maybe ur one just need to shift 1-2 teeth? or is the USD 500 just the bracers or just the cost for the operation only.

Hi, i going this yr to BKK for laser whitening and crown for 1 of my tooth. Spore cost 400 for a crown, BKK only less than sgd200. the only problem is what material they use for the crown.

isit? i last went ard last yr june. so the price was last yr june, but i dun think should increase till that much rite? the (8500 thb) sg$300+ laser whitening is a dentist clinic alone a main road which i saw while passing by. the clinic has more locals than tourist, unlike the one at MBK. I guess another way is to ask the locals for help. I either i ask my friend(a thai) or the hotel staff to help me. Locals rates are lower than us tourist, thus u need the local to help u. i always go to the $10 1hr+ thai massage which my thai friend bring me everytime i go there. the "normal" rate should be 20+ at those tourist massage saloon if i not wrong..

the trick is i just keep quiet and follow my thai friend when i go shopping, eating and massaging, leave the bargaining to ur local friend. the locals has their local shops which they visit. Just like we sporean know that Orchard road electronic is more expensive than sim lim square and neighbourhood stores.

i've completed my rhinoplasty and alar reduction with Dr Somsak in BKK and i'm back in SG.

I was there for 8 days and had a good experience of my lifetime. basically...it was how hannah lee described in her post and I remember that in my case...i was not under GA so i was awake during the op and becuase i also did double eyelids at the same time....my op probably took abt 5hrs in total.

man i was aching cuz i had to lie still more than the pain from the op. yes i could feel the pain when he first injetced the LA but after that...the experience of hearing all that goes on but not the pain is amazing.

anyway...my receovery was ok and I was walking around the streets and all by the 2nd and 3rd day..but i REALLY looked like the elephant woman walking on the streets so all the THais were staring at me like I was crazy.

i still look the same...just maybe a little more defined on my nose and my eyes difficult to tell cuz still swollen and wen i went back to office on 10th day.....i had some colleagues that asked me what happened to my eyes...and i just say i had eye infection.

Dear All,

Please share with me if you have alarplasty done. I would like to know if facial expression is strictly restricted after alarplasty. Any discernible scar?

Thank you so much

Plas,

I did my alar reduction 5 mths back and there is no scarring at all. There was slight redness at the incision area for about a month or so but now you can't see anything. And you might have trouble laughing or opening your mouth wide for a few weeks but it goes away. Now I don't feel anything at all when I make facial expressions......

Alarplasty Experience

Post by Plas » Wed, 22 Nov 2006 2:21 pm

Dear Hannah,

Thanks for the reply. So I assume there is some slight redness on the area of incision and the scar is hidden inside the nostril??Is it a close technique procedure? Is it true that we have to restrict our smile for the 1st month in order not to open up the scar? Any swelling associated with alarplasty?

Hi,

I'm not so sure you can or shld go anywhere except sg to do braces (orthodontic treatment) because you need to visit the dentist EVERY MTH to tighten and review the movement of your teeth over at least 18mths. I did mine with NTUC DentiCare, Dr Colin Ong. He is very good. Charges is approx. S$3.5 +/- depending on individual cases, if extraction of teeth is required, of cos additional charges. But the total cost will be spread over mthly instalments for the duration of your treatment so every mth probably only ard $100 +/- to pay.

I also did teeth whitening at T32 dental clinic at paragon, i think the prices in sg is still hovering ard 1k with some clinics charging 800-900. I did not get shocking white teeth but it was definitely like 3-4 shades whiter? So again, results will depend on inidividuals. One thing to note, during the laser teeth whitening, there will be sensitivity shocks or i dunno what you call them..aka the shocking sensation u get when u bite into an ice cream too quickly.
iamdanny wrote:wad's the diff between meso botox n botox?

and does yanhee or any other thailand hospital do braces for teeth? putting braces in Singapore is very ex.... considering to go thailand put braces

during 1st 3 mths of rhinoplasty, can i slp sideway, go exercising and wear spectacles? will these activities or actions cause implant to shift?

hi.. hmmm.. according to dr hsu, jovin's doctor, he says he uses silicon because it has been proven that it is safer and longer lasting than any other implant and that he doesn't use any other implant because of this reason.. so hmm.. maybe goretex is not as good as it seems? i'm not sure.. jus informing you guys of what some professionals think regarding this issue..
well, diff doc got diff preference of material. and diff doc will tell only the good things of the things they used.

unless u are telling me that the others doctor are wrong than i got nothing to say. Dr hsu is rite in his view but so is the other docs. they have diff reason for the material they use thus u should trust u doctor of ur choice and the adv and disadv of the material used is ok with u.
once u choose the material, u got to bear the consequences of ur choice, be it good or bad.

From what i know, Dr Hsu, Jiang and many other "older" docs belong to the traditional style of surgery trained according to the textbook compiled by westerners. While Dr Jung and other younger docs in taiwan belong to the new school. both got good and bad points of their styles. you got to weight the two and decide which school u wanna go for.

define safer and longer lasting which dr hsu said abt silicone. Silicone has the advantage as the incumbent material choice for most PS becoz it is widly used in the past. but ppl improved and so doe sthe material.
Safer? silicone is wildy know to have the highest percentage of extrusion. while goretx has reported ZERO rejection by the body since 25 yrs ago.
Longer lasting? As posted by dr jung link earlier, Silicone is scientifically recorded to calcify after 10-20 yrs resulting in it become harden or twisted or both, thus u see those :aunties" with warp nose.. while goretex has been known to be still in patients body after 10-20 yrs..

The most lesson that Forumers should take note and accept is that "There is NO material that has been proven to last w/o wear and tear or degrade yet. Thus Revision may be needed after 10-20 yrs. Wear and tear and changes in state of the mateial is part and parcel of life."

For me, i trust a nose specialist more, furthermore, he is the father of korean style rhinoplastry. To back it up, if u read those links i posted earlier, got 1 article metion the extrusion chances of silicone is much higher than goretex.
since korean style is my choice, i will bear with the consequences of my choice, be it for good or for bad. i wont blame the doc unless it is due to his technical err.

however silicone does has its advantages over it disadv thus it is the most wildly used implants in the past.

anyway, there will not be goretx implant available soon as the co. has stopped production at this yr end.
For me, i have make my stand after much readinga and reviews, which is:
1)No SG doc for me. (yet)
2)No traditional style PS surgery for me. asian go for asian style technique
3)No fixed features or shape for my PS. i will let the doc decide the best natural looking yet prominent features for me. dun lose my identity till my soul cant even regconize my face.
4)No fixed material or implant i will used. diff implants suit diff needs. if Dr Jung say L silicone implant is better for me, i will do it caused he must have a reason to suggest L silicone implant for me. "Use a talent, do not doubt him, if you doubt him, dun use the talent"
Where did u get that info from ?
If goretex is really good, why would they stop making it ??

Manufacturer can stop making it if the cost is higher than the revenue. sometimes it has nothing to do with good or no good coz to business, profit is what it counts. for example.

Nissan used to make skyline gtr, which is the best car to the racer, however, they discountinued production becoz profit is not high enough, they would earn more using the same labour and resources in making other models.

furthermore, goretex face very tight competition with silicone as silicone cost is less than 5% of that with Goretex, doctor who goes for pure profit would recommend silicone (thus claiming silicone is the "best", to justify their choice). eveything ends up with cost and profit.
Goretex I implant is no more prod, but i believe they still have ex stock and also, they doctor still can uses Goretex sheet to make the implant (just that more work for the surgeon)

Now got alloderm implant and softform for alternatives. both is organic friendly, soft and bendable and is easy removed. If u use I implant silicone, u cant pinch and bend ur nose but the two implants can, thus they will feel natural and less chance of extrusion.
