Sim Lim Square the place to be.

Yes, Sim Lim Square is the place to go. Just ensure that they give the right warranty. The other place is Funan at North Bridge Road, near City Hall.
You will be surprised by the number of people at Sim Lim Square on the weekend.

The usual trek is to go to Funan first, check prices for what you want, then go to SLS and haggle to get the best price

It is not that bad at Sim Lim Square. Stick to the bigger shops and compare prices. Most of the bigger shop provide a list of their sale items. Happy shopping.

Go to Funan. Sim Lim is a den of thieves.
I've had a bad experience there.

I quite like this link;
http://sls.vr-zone.com/
Enthusiast site but they generally go and scan the promo flyers at Sim Lim and put them up on the site. Not always the fastest to update but I have yet to find anywhere on the internet with price lists.
Much vetter than the official site with lots of show and flash but no real prices (that I have found).
Cheers
