high doesn't always mean sharp cuz your tip and the shape of your nose also plays a big role. You can have a high bridge and a round tip and your nose still won't look sharp if u know what I mean.

Leenaaa,

yeah I did tell Dr. Jung quite clearly NO high bridge. And perhaps he gives his korean patients an EVEN higher bridge cuz when he peeled off my cast he said "oh very nice and natural just like u wanted". I didn't even dare look in the mirror after I got my cast off. Only when I got back to the service apt did I dare peek at it. I guess now at one mth post op it my bridge is much improved than 3 weeks ago.

I'm so used to it now, when I think of how flat and blobby my old nose was I don't regret the surgery at all.
Hi Hannah Lee,
How's your nose recovering? Is the bridge still too high for you? I'm also curious to know if any of your friends/work colleagues notice a difference to your nose after the surgery? I'm having an implant (not too high too cus I'm actually happy with my bridge) and possibly alar reduction (if Dr. Jung recommends this) and just wonder if the people close to me will able to pin-point that my nose is different. Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi everybody,

I am planning to go to Dr.Jung for surgery in the summer. Hannah, does dr.Jug speak good english? I'm a bit worried about the language barrier. Also, have your friends and family noticed that you had surgery done? I know this is a bit strange but eventhough I want surgery done, I want it to look as natural as possible XD

Also, did anyone go for surgery in a foregin country themselves?

many many thanks for answering my Q's =P

SinEcch REALLY cuts the downtime of swelling. I had ear surgery twice, the first time without SinEcch (swelling, pain lasted 3 mnonths) and the second time with Sinecch and it lasted only 2 weeks!

Hi all,

I'd like to seek you views on my case.

2 months after an otoplasty on my left ear, it has gone back to its original state. The doctor suggests that I go thru a second surgery this time. I am very concern about having to go under the knife again and also that the result might be unsuccessful again.

I am kinda lost as to wat I should do now... Questions in mind are, should I let him do the surgery on me again? should I go to another doc?

Having read most of the posts here have made me realised that even good, reputable docs dun produce satisfying results. Hence, I wonder if going to another doc would help.

Btw, the PS would did this surgery is a pretty reputable one and is one of whom u peps have mentioned before.
I will like to ask if there's anyone who had gone for a successful rhinoplasty. I am considering augmenting my nose bridge and nasal tip.

The consultation in SGH is a disappointment. With my present nose, there are 2 doctors who told me that i don't need a nose job. They commented it won't add any further to beautify me.

I had consulted another surgeon Dr. Andrew George Tay from MD specialist, and he said probably he will give an increament of 1-2mm, that being the maximum.

I have seen the wonderful results of others who had gone for nasal bridge and tip augmentations. Surely They seemed to have more than just 1-2mm of increament. Come to think of it, if it's only 1-2mm of difference, I don't think it will make any difference to my nose. And spending on things that don't contribute a difference...it's rather lame isn't it??
I just felt that for some reasons, all the doctors i had approached isn't keen, or willing to help me enhance my appearances. I don't know why, but they claimed there's not much they can do.

I don't know if i should go korea to have my rhinoplasty done. I'm really amazed by the noses those korean actors/actresses have. I know most are enhanced by rhinoplasty. Everyone knows about the artistes there having surgery done to their appearances (this is very common) because there are significant changes to their before and after looks.

I suppose It's easy to tell you had something done when the change is rather obvious. :D My friend had typical asian eye lids all along, after surgery her eyes looked much bigger and nicer looking since appropriate amounts of fats, tissues had been trimmed off. Though she denied going for surgery but there's a dramatic crease appearing where it has never been prior to surgery.

And i believe people actually spend on things that can significantly improve their present situations. Otherwise why waste all the efforts and $$$ ? :?

If there's anyone who went for rhinoplasty and had recovered well & If you don't mind and is willing may i look at your post surgery nose photos? I appreciate anyone's kindness to help. you can reassure that your photos will be kept confidential and not spammed around.

How much mm did the doctor increase for you? Is 1-2mm increament common? It seemed ridiculous. I have photos to show you guys my present nose. [P.S this nose had not been changed enhanced by any cosmetic surgery, it's my real nose.]
http://airene1980.spaces.msn.com/PersonalSpace.aspx

I don't think my nose bride is so high that it just needs 1-2mm increament. I'm not giving up on this just because i had been rejected by few doctors here in singapore.

Because i had friends who told me that i will look great if i have these concerns done abroad. And some countries' plastic surgeons are much skillful than singapore's. Besides this, they are more capable to give a better aesthetic enhancement even to the other features on the face.

But, from this board, time and again, I had heard the good testimonies about singapore's surgeons. :( I suppose It's actually my finance resources that is putting me in a dilemma ??
I think its no point doing just for 1, 2 mm. cant see any diff !!

Also. I think there mus be a good reason they dunt want to do your nose. Maybe its already nice enough and u are pretty enough !!

Not common for surgeons to reject patients. N u been rejected by 2 !!

Hi Chiqita and Aire,

my nose is doing fine now 6 wks post op. Still a bit numb at the tip but that's all. My relatives that I don't see that often didn't really notice that I got something done. I also saw my ex boyfriend whom I haven't seen in 3 yrs and he just asked me if I lost weight cuz I look diff but he couldn't pin point the source. And this is someone who used to see my nose every single day for 2 yrs and he still can't tell. Obviously my parents and close family can see the diff but I also told all the ppl I'm close to.

Personally I think the bridge is still too high but other ppl tell me that its actually quite natural. Even my own sister said the diff is quite subtle but to me its very obvious, maybe cuz I know my own face so well. Anyways, if its an improvement then is it so bad that other ppl notice?

Aire, Dr. Jung's English isn't great but he knows what you're trying to say. He may have trouble fully expressing himself but I think that he understands quite well what I was saying. Sorry I don't have pics to show cuz I'm not comfortable sending out to ppl, its a privacy thing I guess.

One thing about the final shape, alot of docs say u have to wait many mths to see the final shape and I think its really true. At 2 weeks post op I thought my nose was more or less gonna look like that. But by 4 weeks the whole shape had changed alot, it got smaller and more defined. And each week that goes by I think it keeps changing. Maybe its my imagination but it does keep getting better as time passes. So don't be scared when you see your big fat nose when the cast comes off. I was shocked but the swelling really does go away quite dramatically. The biggest diff is in my nose tip, I heard that the swelling there takes the longest to go away. It was quite bulbous at first but now is a bit sharper and more defined.

Leenaaa, how is your nose doing? Have you decided if you wanna see Dr. Jung for revision?

Definitely with that face/nose combination of yours, rhinoplasty will make you a lot prettier. I suggest you go Dr Jung. Save a lot first, you may have to spend 7k SGD (give or take).

My nose is still the same. I really don't know if I will be going to Jung... don't really like it that he isn't big on communication and don't like his style of noses. I might not have an implant.. just correct everything else. You'll be back in Sg next month right?
Hi Leenaaa,

I feel so sorry for your case and I feel partly responsible as I gave ok comment for Dr. Kim.

But recently, I find out my breathing from my right nostril is difficult, I suspect the septum cartilage is devated after the hard gortex is placed on top. I also wrote to Dr. Jung see if I need a re-op... everyday I'm pushing the cartilage to the left... not sure if it works but I guess it's better than none...

Remember, the shape will starts to come out only in 1 mth and sort of complete when it's 3 mths. So don't rush into doing anything, that's what Ocean 11 and Jovin told me which I did wait after that.

Wish you get well soon. Don't be too upset. Take care!
