What is the best solution for a dry peeling face?

Post by Butoot » Tue, 18 Jul 2006 6:33 am

Good morning

My face is very dry and there are red patches here and there.

My room and office are always very cold and dry. I cannot stand stuffiness and there have the aircon on all the time.

What is the best solution (besides putting in a humidifier)?

Is Emu Oil good?

Thanks!

Is it a case of allergy or urticaria? Have you visited a doctor to check? Cold and dryness from the air-conditoning won't normally cause red patches.

If it's not severe, then you can just apply moisturizer at night before you go to bed.

well we dont need nuclear bomb to burn a pile of leaves, do we?

So just moisturise with a regular moisturiser and that will do. If your skin is the allergy prone sort, choose mositurisers which are hypoallergenic

Check your diet pattern,or other factors such as allergic rhinitis/hay fever to see if it has anything to do with your red patches.

Try doing moisture sheet mask every night for the time being, until your condition gets better. I know that it is very high maintenance to do it every night, you can try using the deep hydrating mask from neutrogena, it is quite good and affordable. I'm using it, but for your case you might need to use it daily.

I also know that helena rubinstein has some kind of moisture mask where you can apply after your moisturiser, and still keep it on under your makeup throughout. I was recommended that when I go on holidays, it worked, as i use it on flights where it is very drying.

But no matter what you apply, always remember that it is the best to treat your inner and then your outer. Have you ever wondered if your dehydration is the cause of lack of hydration IN your BODY? I take this chinese herbal syrup "pi pa gao" whenever I visit my friend during winter (1 mth). It actually keep my skin VERY supple and fair. But of course that is for myself. It defintely works differently on individuals, I'm just sharing what I do. Eating tomatoes is really a very good source for your skin, my parents drink fresh tomato juice, erm.. PUREE i mean. They seriously don't look their age and is damn flawless.

All mentioned above is what i think works, it might not work for you and I'm only sharing information, it is good if you could consult a skin specialist to confirm your condition first before you try out anything, as you mentioned the red patches on your skin. Might be some allergy, so good luck!
