hi twinkling...

what do you think is the probability of having an air crash or hijacking?

personally i thought that every jobs have their own risk..even if ure sitting inside ur own office, ur building might catch fire? or even if u work in the bank u might meet arm robbery?
but their probability of such incidents occuring is really low............
it really depends on how you perceive it...

hello eva,

there are thousand of FA out there..u cant expect everybody to be perfect in their eyesight right?

but to me...general applications for such jobs, should you have absolutely poor vision like above 600 per eye..maybe chances are lower?
thats jus my guess!

just my opinion, there's a risk for everything, hence the benefits due to higher risks? we cannot deny that things happen, however it is one of the reasons you're trained to handle such situations?

Welcome to the boad twinkling. Don't worry about your fear it is normal and nearly all passengers experience it. A great pity there are no Fear of Flying classes that I know of anywhere in Asia as there is in the UK.

Do have a look around the web though some pilots keep websites that address this issue, here's one for starters;

Hi dilemma_nic,

haha...from what you have said..I think it does make some sense. I was worried because I have read from the Japan Airlines Website that they require their FA to have perfect eyesight. So I thought that it applies to all airline companies as well. Haha..now i'm alittle comfort. Thx for your response anyway. :D

hey kristen,

apparently it seems that they only accept diploma holders graduated form LOCAL polys...

However, should you be holding a private diploma, i supppose u have already possessed an 'O' lvl cert too, do U?

with these, you may try it out for the interview, provided the requirements stated 'O lvls are welcome', as i knew they just started the opening for Os holders recently, but they may withdraw it anytime..

In anyway, you may just want to give it a try, but should you fail any of the requirements due to the qualifications, don feel dismayed! you can always try again!

Meanwhile i think they still allow applications from Os holder...jus give it a try lo..ya? =]

gd luck!
