I'm not sure if anyone else thinks the same as me, but I find all this bad feeling is catching on in my life. Today I've been quite cheesed off. Not sure why, really, as all this is is a forum in hyperspace, and few of us (apart from the WNDC) folks have met up.
But, perhaps it's because of 'modern life' that I feel as if lots of you are my friends, and it's almost like losing you all. It is very sad.
Yes, of course, some of us have fallen out, many times, but the very fact that we keep coming back for more makes the majority of us the sort of people who would almost certainly get on in real, face to face life.
You know, don't you think that as you get older you become more intolerant of people you just 'know' you have little in common with? Well, that's why I think it's a shame if we all split up, because we DO have something in common.
We have a love of the cut and thrust of debate; whether it's entertaining, annoying or comforting.
I know there are lots of factors involved in this hoo-har, but could we not just realise what we have to lose if we all scarper?
All of us have other lives, but it's great to be able to chat about things here on the forum. And to put up a shout into the dark if we're down, or worried, or don't know how to do things, or just plain mad about something.
We can chase the 'right' responses too far, and make pride our watchword. Let's not do that; let's try to calm the waters.
