WEEPING OF A STONE

In a lonely graveyard plot,
Where the lost and lonely go;
I saw the weeping of a stone
Upon the ground, I saw them flow.

The words embedded deep in slate;
The cause of death, a broken heart.
I saw no flowers, his stone adorn,
But there embedded, I saw the thorn.

Buried deep, it seemed to pierce,
For flowing down were bitter tears.
Within my heart, emotions fierce,
As they broke my own veneers.

Pouring down was my own pain
Upon the stone of past gone years
Where the pain, I saw remain.

Rain like tears fall about me
Washing the dust grey tar to true mourning black
And all along the street shines out the vague bright blur of lights
Has rain or tears blurred their form?
I don't know.
Why should the sky cry tears like rain
And soak the would in sorrow?
I had thought that no-one knew my grief.

one of my favorites:

"Harriet, Harry-et,
sweet Harriet,
Hard-hearted harbinger of haggis.

Beautiful, bemused, bellicose butcher.

So knowing, so trusting, so lov-ed.

He wants you back he screams into the night air, like a fireman going to a window that has no fire, ‘cept the passion of his heart.

I am lonely,

It’s really hard.

This poem sucks.”

Kimi wrote: You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
An inspiring and thoughtfull poem. Makes me think.
The heart which opens up becomes broader and more rich

Slow Dance
by Anonymous Works

This poem was written by a terminally
ill young girl in a New York Hospital.
It was sent by a doctor -

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic
flight? Or gazed at the sun into
the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?

When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say hi
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your
day, It is like an unopened
gift....
Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
One man's meat is another's poison.

what is a pond without water
what is mirror without the silverback.

what is an eye without light..
what is light without reflection
what is a heart without affection.

what is a thought without a meaning
what is a word without a sentence.

and some lines convinct you
to a live of thoughts
with meaning and affection
a reflection of the light
in your eyes
back from the silver
into your pondering mind

A BOAT BENEATH A SUNNY SKY - by Lewis Carroll

A BOAT beneath a sunny sky,
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July --

Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear --

Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die:
Autumn frosts have slain July.

Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.

Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.

In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:

Ever drifting down the stream --
Lingering in the golden dream --
Life, what is it but a dream?
Happiness is a daily decision.

Bewilderment - by Marion Cole

A crescendo of music stimulating translucent
colours mixing into one ...

A cry so faint, could it be laughter or a cry
of loneliness, lost in time

Startling white flashes of lightening
noiselessly streak across the eye

Dark space, mingle around looking for a
way into or out of the sphere

Bewilderment, music abound, colours rare to
be seen

Yet, still you are not here - not joy

Just bewilderment ...
To be able to be together is fate,
but so is separation ----> Takeshi Keneshiro

Heartfelt poem of the day

Post by NoGood » Tue, 04 Apr 2006 10:41 am

Kimi:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Honey is sweet
And so are you.

Birds fly high
Hard to catch
Friends like you
Hard to find.

Jack and Jill
Went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down
And broke his crown
And Jill came tumbling after

Wow, was that supposed to be a pick-up line? :P

A book I read has these nice lines I thought I can share.

This ship that sets its sails forever
rigid on my coin
is named Endeavour.
She buys a drink to bar the dreams
of the long nights lying.
The world is never what it seems
and the sun is dying...
