Aren't most FAs female and only abt 10% of them are males? Won't you call that a female-working environment? Of course it is! I'm sure guys could show up at the open day. Just go for it!

Just poking a bit of fun - you took it well.

I can't remember seeing a male steward on any of the flights I have had with Gulf, Emirates or Qatar . . . Maybe they only hire females for this position. Check the wording on the ads.

Good luck and cut the he ehee bit :)

This is most likely true; as an SIA flight attendant told me: 'the company was cutting back on its male staff because they can work until they are 65'.

Sad fact of today's world is companies just do not want to pay pensions, just another way to cut cost sorry to say.

People who are going for Qatar's open day on sat, pls note that it is not an interview day cos of e huge turnout. There will be hundreds who are going n there's no way they are going to interview everyone. They will say it's an open day n not interview day when yr there.

The last time this was held at Meritus Mandarin n basically they wil show a video followed by q & A session. The previous time, there were only 2 ladies for e whole big group! But they will ask u to hand in yr resumes n pictures n afterwhich they wil call if yr shortlisted to come back which i think never happened the other time. Well, jus some advice to those who are going n expecting interviews to happen...so be prepared..

mahalo21,

You have stated a point, possibly without knowing it, that I have made elsewhere: it will not be any easier to get a job with this airline than Singapore Airlines. I think truth may well be it will be even more difficult.

It certainly is as they expect a certain fluency in English - something sorely lacking on these posts.
