I believe you mean Fugu ( a puffer fish served in Japan).

Yes, it's definitely Fugu. As a chef you have to go to special classes to prepare it and you also have to be licensed I believe.

It's not the laska that has the little clams is it? I though it was Char kuay Teow (sp?). One of my favorites with plenty of cockles (the little clams). Notorious for carrying Hepatitis B? or is it A? or C? dunno which just that can carry the really bad version.

Actually hasn't that Nobel already won? I believe it was the Killer Aircon cooling towers and Legionnaires disease wasn't it? (no nobel won but killer aircon supported

death by soup

Post by Wham » Sun, 25 Dec 2005 7:43 am

Come to think of it, when i had the fugu we also had some SEAMAN soup. Now i figured it was the "Arrr Matey/shiver me timbers/Land HO!/aye aye captain" kind of SEAMAN soup, but when it was 1/2 done it was revealed to me that is was actually SEMEN SOUP - cod sperm to be specific - and i nearly had a heart attack. Which once again takes us back to DEADLY SOUP and the fleeting nature of life.

Beware the DEADLY SOUP that rips life from the innocent and takes down grown men !!!

And along those lines, in Jamaica there is a soup called cow cod soup. Now what is cow cod soup, you may ask? No, its not some exotic tropical fish soup but rather the penis of a cow served up in soup. I'll pass on this one, thanks very much!
