At 58? Nothing is taboo. Matter of fact, pretty soon that's all I'll be able to do - just talk about it!k1w1 wrote:How about you guys? What do you NOT discuss? Anything really taboo?
At the moment the current form and fortune of Southampton FC is definitely not allowed to be discussed in my presencek1w1 wrote: How about you guys? What do you NOT discuss? Anything really taboo?
Ay, yes. Football (rugby for us, of course). Religion for all non-believers and church for those that do believe. We do not discuss this either, except of course when we've just slaughtered someone than we just don't shut up...Saint wrote:At the moment the current form and fortune of Southampton FC is definitely not allowed to be discussed in my presencek1w1 wrote: How about you guys? Yep, my mom always told us never to discuss religion. Not sure that it's taboo exactly but many of us chinese hardly discuss affection, for each other that is. I don't reckon my mom or dad has ever said 'I love you' to me or my sisk1w1 wrote:Religion for all non-believers and church for those that do believe. Totally agree with you Jag, Mrs S found the close affection from my family and friends quite alien, someone actually greeting you by kissing you on the cheek especially in public in the middle of a pubjag78 wrote: Yep, my mom always told us never to discuss religion. Another thing I know most never discuss-a 'disgrace' in the family.
Yes, sex is something we don't talk about in Singapore Sometimes the topic would crop up when the girls together. Then somewhere along the line, someone would exclaim "too much information!", we'll all laugh and then change topic.Bubbles wrote: Also, sex....well, it had to come up, didn't it? Maybe that's one of the reasons Singapore is at the bottom of the Durex list of frequency of "doing it"!locallass wrote:Yes, sex is something we don't talk about in Singapore Sometimes the topic would crop up when the girls together. Oh yes.. this is so true.. Don't forget to throw in the metros as well!!The only people Singaporeans I know who are open about talking about sexuality or joking about it are the gay guys. They're a scream sometimes, but always fun to talk to
