Wind In My Hair wrote:anyway seriously, without kicking up the dust again, i was just thinking that so many of life's misunderstandings and quarrels are because we unknowingly brush against someone else's past and have to deal with demons we don't even know exist till they jump out at us. and we all have demons (except sapphire of course, they're all terrified of her! :lol: )
So WIMH, are you referring to my demons in this post?

Given our past conflicts, I am sorely tempted to take you out on this. But I will not. I’ve accepted that there are just people we cannot get along with no matter how hard we try. I will not be so inclined however in the next round.

I thought it was enough to just stay out of each other’s way. Obviously that’s not an option.

t'is my turn, i see, to endure your fury;
when no harm was meant, nor insult nor injury.

read again my post, you'll see it's quite clear,
you were not mentioned. no one was, my dear.

t'was a general note on our shared human frailty,
and meant to sooth, to say no one's 'guilty'.

for i know i've demons that from my past hail,
and know how they've managed my life to derail.

and so t'was a sharing, on how when we quarrel,
it's not us that speaks, t'is some inner devil.

perhaps i was clumsy, in my honest attempt,
to nudge the thread in the direction t'was meant.

but since you have pounced, then hear my reply:
"all looks yellow to a jaundiced eye".

so in rhyme now i speak, for we all know the folly,
of taking all that is said here much too seriously!

:D

Oh please excuse me then for thinking it could be me when I was the only one whose past was referred to in this thread. How ever could it be me because my name was not mentioned??!!

You don't need it. The following lines will always work:

"Come home with me"

"I want you"

"Let's go someplace private. With a bed. Or a table"

Or just grab a guy by the first thing that pops up and drag him to your bed. ;)

t'was a comment about all humans, you see;
which includes everyone, and sure, you and me.

if you really must know, t'was my ex came to mind,
since the fight i witnessed was not first of its kind.

so in truth, you see, it's not all about you.
i'm surely entitled to think aloud too.

i write this now, not for my sake, but yours;
chill, girl, anger leads to all sorts of sores!

Perhaps you could a little more tactful and check the context of the thread before you hit the submit button next time? Just a thought.

ha ha, you'll not have the last word this time,
i can go on forever, when it comes to rhyme!

yours was a good suggestion, the one about tact.
but whether one's tactful is more opinion than fact.

i'll say this though, because it is true;
tact is useless, if you think it's always 'bout you.

for whatever i say can be twisted and turned,
till a fault is found, and for that i'll be burned.

so forget the tact, at least for a while;
since you've confronted me, let's go the whole mile.

you may have been hurt by others before,
for that i am sorry, i know you are sore.

but not everyone in the world is the same,
let go and move on, is the name of the game.

to carry a huge chip on those slender shoulders
will weigh you down, and leave painful splinters.

hate me if you must, for saying this now,
but i feel for you, and want to help i vow.

and before you reply, and put me to paid,
think through the truth of what i have said.

You just need to say, "yes"... or at most suggest that I stop by your place for a "nightcap".

Or pantylines. Or a lack thereof...

So now you're telling me to move on from my "demons"? ;)

Thanks for finally being direct. And for that pity and compassion you're showing me.

I've exercised some restraint in this thread WIMH. Let's see about the next round shall we? ;)

So, has everyone stopped fighting now? Its a pity you know, we had trolls to fight with. Then some members turned adamant about must-register blah blah and now we pick fights with each other. :roll:
It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
