ERP2.0 sucks - is there a fine for NOT fitting it?

Post by PNGMK » Fri, 04 Oct 2024 9:46 am

I know that it's subsidized by tax payers... but what if I just ignore it all together?

What happens? Old ERP IU still works right?
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Cannot understand how this outdated device gets the approval. How on earth LTA spent millions on the project and this is the end product!

I will delay the installation until the very last day.

We may get the ERP V3 by then 😂

Sadly, one consistent thing I have observed over the decades from the LTA is a persistent inward focus and almost total disregard for the consumer experience. I hope this changes one day, but it seems deeply entrenched.

Agree!

Singapore gov always think they are right and has zero regard to the citizen's feedback.

The touch screen is the ugly one.. If you choose not to install the Touchscreen Display, you can download a compatible mobile application to view ERP and other traffic information. The most important feature is the removal of the card when getting complimentary carpark. If you are ok to live without that, I think you can opt without the display.

I wonder if you can first choose without, then choose with later one? Else if you sell the car, when the new owner wants the display, what do you do?

I think it is quite particular to the transport ministry. I think the education ministry has been taking in feedback and trying their best to make changes to the education system, slowly but surely

If you sell the car and the new owner wants the screen, will just need to pay to get it installed at authorised workshop. Why would someone pay for a low resolution screen with no useful information? We don't really need the clock do we?

For the education ministry, the way they pass information to parents are very messy, so many different channels and apps. The mobile guardian is hopeless too.

They can do a better job!

I worked on the NEL and Circle Line projects with LTA in an Aussie company now owned by STE. You can see some of the stuff I worked on still in the station masters office. LTA is terrible - they have fresh grads who know nothing and then a hollow middle and then seniors who work from 1950's designs.
