Hi all, I have been in Singapore for 11 years, have been applying PR and rejected 3 times before. I have reapplied PR this June and wanted to know my chance

Current Pass: EP
Job: Software Engineer
Nationality: Myanmar
Age: 30 male
Marital Status: Married to PR last year
Education: NTU Master, NUS Bachelor, SP Diploma
Length of stay in SG: 11 year
Working experience : 6 years
Length of current employment: 7 months
Salary: Base Salary 6.8k

Chances look low because of the quota and salary.

I see. I just apply through normal application instead of sponsorship route. Thanks, seems I need to increase salary more.

Kid: 1 (son, just born after receiving PR application -- we are in the process of applying for his PR now).

I applied for my PR about two years after arriving in Singapore with my husband. It was a standard application, with testimonial letters from lawyers and also church members. We also included a cover letter stating our intention and plans for staying in Singapore, and ties to local family members here.

We applied for our PR in November 2020, received our PR in May 2021. So about a six month waiting period. Hope this helps with the information bank. Thanks again to all the helpful assessors on here -- you never know who you're helping, even those who don't post

Long time lurker here. Wanted to share our family’s PR application story as I think some may have a similar profile as I. Note that this is not a successful outcome. Our result was received more than a few months ago now, but figured this to be worth sharing still. Unsuccessful story’s are just as valuable as successful ones when shared correctly.

Time of wait for result = virtually 2 years (week here there give or take)

Profile -

Husband:

Nationality - British / Aus duel citizen
Ethnicity - Chinese
Years in SG - 10+ years
Age - early 40’s
Industry / Company - Tech / MNC EP holder
Salary - $250k+
Tax returns - 10 years all with same company.

Wife:

Nationality - Aus / Philippines duel citizen
Ethnicity - Filipino
Years in SG - 10+ years
Age - late 30’s
Industry / Company - DP since 2017
Salary - N/A
Tax returns - 8

Both hold degrees from reputable university in AU.

1 son - 5 y/o, DP holder, born SG. Citizenship same as husband.

Applied previously for PR > 6 years ago, but had lower salary / wife had salary so joint income was the same - rejected in 5 months.

Applied this time with son, born in SG. Son ethnicity on birth certificate is stated Chinese. All documentation requested for application provided, no missing info. Rejected most likely due to quota levels, which is understandable.

No contact from ICA for this application. Previous application requested for additional details of family members.

Happy to answer any questions if it helps. To those applying currently, best of luck, wishing for you a successful outcome.

To us, we’re not disappointed with our outcome - other than it took a long time for result, but the pandemic did begin not long after our application was put through.

It doesn’t change our position or preference to remain in SG, would have helped us solidify our local status, but it is what it is, our lives remains the same as it was before our child was born, up until today. Grateful to be in SG as it is.

Thank you for that. This kind of information, while unfortunate in this case, is what we need here. I wish you luck with your next try. I wonder, however, if you and your wife's dual nationalities are noted on the applications and if they are, what impact they might have on the application. I know that dual nationality individuals in the pass have gotten PR (in fact one with 3 nationalities was given PR here (he's a longstanding member of this board). But under the current economics and epidemics things could well have changed.

Additionally, being already in your early 40's might have had a bearing on it as well. Again, thanks for posting this.

Got a local MP to support this last attempt (going to go back and ask for support again on appeal and request for feedback - which they told me they would do when I met them last time). I had a PEP (but expired after 3 years). In appeal letter going to highlight things that have changed which I couldn't really make clear in the forms: highlight our origins and the fact that settling in SG is perfect for us as a family, growing retirement fund here in SG, progressing the MBA, multiple promotions at same company over last 15 years, wife back to work in SG, wife's local certificates and post-grade study in SG early childhood education, daughter born and growing up in SG (basically a Singaporean - never lived anywhere else), my involvment in CSR.

What else can I do?!

I believe you cannot include any cover letters or additional information. I emailed after my last application to request inclusion of a cover letter with some additional information I thought would be helpful and they responded saying (I quote):
2 Do allow us to clarify that the document checklist is provided for applicants to prepare only the essential documents that are required for the processing of PR application. There is no need to submit other documents/information (e.g. donations, volunteer letters, recommendation letters, cover letter, endorsement letters etc) that are neither prompted to be uploaded in the ePR system nor mentioned in our document checklist. You will be notified by email if further clarification is required pertaining to the submitted ePR information/documents and after we have completed our processing via post.

Chance is going to be less. But try once again after 2 years.

I've found it difficult to explain the above to many people lately. A lot of Indians who have apparently got their PRs approved by going through an agency which insisted on getting these letters, and they keep hammering this point that such letters are a must. I myself have never provided these as there is no option for such a thing in the ePR.

(I am an Indian, living in SG 4 yrs, working in the financial industry. Rejected PR twice).

It was rejected As per the post above - I'm going to try an appeal though. I had an agent tell me to request a meeting (from my 3rd attempt) - which I also tried but they clearly rejected that request stating "we do not do that". I won't be using an agent again (and didn't for my 4th attempt).

And I agree. I have not hired any agency's services. Nor planning to. My 3rd PR rejection came in yesterday btw. But didn't have too high hopes anyways (Only 4yrs in the country, Indian, and working in a bank, and have a girl child only).
