PR Approved Feb 2026 - Timeline and Formalities

Post by pambuk » Thu, 26 Mar 2026 10:07 pm

Hi all

Sharing with you my PR application journey. If you remember, I shared my LTVP journey last year.

Timeline from LTVP to PR

We got Married - Dec 2024
Applied LTVP - Jan 2025 | Approved LTVP - Mar 2025
Officially LTVP holder - May 2025

After 3 months, we submitted PR application
Applied PR (wife sponsor) - Aug 2025 | Approved PR - Feb 2026
Officially PR - Mar 2026

Background
Wife - SC, Chinese, 47y/o
Me - Spass for 6 years before LTVP, Filipino, 35y/o
Wife - Operation Manager 4.5k/mo
Me - Sales Executive 3.2k/mo
No Kids
Married for 1.3 years

Completion of Formalities
4 days before knowing the outcome, the status changed from processing to outcome received, the upload documents gone.

Feb 23 - Received IPA for PR. Needed to complete 6 task which was all online via ICA website (mostly just to acknowledged and declaration forms)
1. Complete PR Journey
2. Medisave health declaration
3. Upload medical examination
4. Upload passport size photo
5. Review and confirm personal particulars
6. Entry permit & REP acknowledgement

Feb 24 - completed and uploaded all 6 task since i didn't need to re-do medical as my last medical for LTVP was less than a year. Once completed, we were advised to wait for 10 working days as ICA will review our documents.

Mar 10 - received notification to make payment for IC card, Entry Permit and Re Entry Permit which cost $120.

After making the payment, I was immediately granted PR and I received an email that my LTVP was canceled. Initially, we thought they will give us an appointment to complete formalities at ICA Bldg. It was probably because i just had my biometrics done last year in May when I completed my formalities for my LTVP.

My wife immediately check the status of our application, the status changed from Finalisation to “Congratulations, your Permanent Residence is granted” and it showed my NRIC number 😀

We were asked to complete 3 tasks
1. Download my Entry Permit
2. Download my Re Entry Permit
3. Book an appointment to collect IC - need to wait for the notification from ICA as to when can book an appointment. Important to remember the issue date when booking.

We waited 3 days to book an appointment and finally collected my new IC the following week at Singpost.

Hope this helps. Goodluck to all.

Love,
Pambuk

Congrats Pambuk. Thank you for adding the data point, it demonstrates that faster processing is possible in cases like yours at the present time.

Just curious, any plans to eventually retire with your wife back to the Philippines one day? I have seen a few Singaporean-Filipino couples try that, but not sure if they stayed - it’s a big adjustment.
