PR waiting time more than 14 months

Post by Popsy792 » Mon, 02 Mar 2026 11:17 pm

Hi, I have been waiting for my PR results for more than 14 months. About two months ago, I was asked to submit additional documents to support my Chinese lineage. Shortly after that, I was requested to provide my original marriage certificate as well.

Since then, the status has remained pending. May I know if this is generally considered a good or bad sign?

For context, I am 33 years old, graduated in Singapore with a Bachelor’s in IT and an MBA from a private university, and currently working in a large MNC with a stable salary.

They need to satisfy themselves that the information is complete and accurate in order to make a fair assessment of your application.

If you are a fake Chinese and/or are in a fake marriage, no further assessment needed.

If you are a real Chinese in a real marriage, boxes ticked… next step: assess your application against other applicants.

It means nothing other than you've been asked to prove that you are racially Chinese. No indication of success or failure in itself.

That said, being of Chinese descent, if they are convinced of the proof that you submitted, that should give you a foot in the door. You seem to tick other boxes - age (relatively young), married, good education, stable job. What passport are you on? And where is your spouse from - is your spouse included in the application?

Thank you for your reply. My husband is included in this application. He has been living in Sg for more than 15 yrs and graduated from NTU. Same nationality. Age range is 32-33 and origin from Indonesia.

We didn’t get any response and straightly get rejected after 4-8 months for 5 previous applications. So, this time is something special for us. Thank you for your reply. 🙏

As much as I want to say this time is special or different, you really can never know. Singapore is known to tighten procedures over time and this could simply be part of a more rigorous process than before.

I do wish you luck. Let us know how it goes.
