I submitted my PR application in early July 2024, and it has now been over six months with no updates from the ICA. The system indicates that the usual processing time is within six months, but it also mentions that some applications might take longer.

I’m unsure about what to do next. Should I just continue waiting, or is it advisable to email the ICA to request an update?

Additionally, has anyone received positive results under the new application system? I’d appreciate any advice or shared experiences! [-o<

Hi @rindrawan21, you’re right, I am Vietnamese. I am applying as a whole family.
For your concern, i have many Vietnamese friends who obtained the PRs and many failed too. 😂. Good luck to you and your wife!

Is there an email for ICA because the last one I sent went to to an unmanned mailbox.

As for the OP's question - 11 months is strange. The longest I had to wait was 9 months (for a rejection. Weep).

Reach out to them on the MyICA app or call the number.

The old emails will no longer work. Please use the feedback form on the ICA page (form.sg) to send your enquiry.

Can I use that to appeal rejections too? Thanks.

Yes, you can do that. This will be the only way to communicate with ICA. There is a predefined drop-down list for your enquiry. If you can’t find a suitable option, just select "Others". You can then write your query in detail. You may also attach up to three documents.

Once you submit your enquiry, you will receive an automated reply. After about a week, you will get an email from an ICA officer regarding your enquiry.

It's next to useless to appeal rejections.

Depending on the wording of the letter or email of rejection that you received (eg: "You are welcome to apply again once your circumstances have changed" or "You can continue to live/work here under your existing permit"), you are better off waiting a couple of years, hopefully upgrading your circumstances - promotion, marriage to a SG citizen with child on the way etc - and then applying again.

If the rejection says you are welcome to continue working here under your existing permit, then you are SOOL (sh*t out of luck) and you will probably never get PR and (as we always say here) it will be time for Plan B.
"Both politicians and nappies need to be changed regularly, and for the same reasons."

You might be right, but in my case, I got PR for my wife and kids after 7 applications and 6 appeals, a total of 13 tries.

Finally got it approved on the 6th appeal.

So yes, appeals do work. Don’t give up.

But make sure there’s some change in your circumstances before you submit appeal, otherwise, the chances are almost zero. You can see more details in my other post.
