PR Application: Waiting time after provided the additional documents

Post by seatraveller2023 » Wed, 05 Jun 2024 9:51 am

Hi, for those that previously provided the additional documents, I just want to ask what is your waiting time from the time you submit > till the date you receive your result? It has been 9 months since I applied and I'm getting anxious checking my emails everyday  If I know any estimated time, it should be better for my mental health :(

I applied on 3 September 2023, ICA asked for additional documents to prove my Chinese descent on 3 May 2024. I uploaded the documents on 16 May and no news since then. The upload button on my PR application is still there as well.

Here is my profile:
27F Single Chinese Vietnamese, studied Art Diploma in Singapore from 2015-2018. Working here from 2018 till now under S Pass with the same company, salary 5k a month. My older sister is PR since 2008.

Thanks a lot in advance!

How long is a piece of string? There is no fixed waiting time for an outcome after providing additional documents.

Upload button still there then just check the status once a month.

Only when the upload button disappears then you can either check weekly or daily.

What part of Vietnam were your grandparents from prior to 1975? This may have a bearing on it. If they were already in S. Vietnam, then you need to just wait it out. If they moved south after the reunification of North and South in 1975 it may take a while or not. (Where your grandparents members of the communist party?) I know these are hard questions but Singapore is very sensitive to this for stupid reasons.

The biggest benefit of this forum is the unvarnished feedback and advice that you'll find here. Generally the respondents take pride in giving the best advice possible based on real life experience and accumulated anecdotal evidence. Offering false hope based on 'positive thinking' does nothing to help the person concerned and may in fact negatively impact them.

when it comes to immigration matters, rose tinted glasses don't help one bit. I learned this the hard way many years ago.
