Compared to 10 years ago, this board is certainly quiet - and likely to remain so unless more new members like you join and actively take part.
As a repository of essential information and advice for new Singapore expats, I think this message board is unmatched. However, to remain relevant this site needs a constant influx of new members contributing to ensure that the information found here is up to date.
Unfortunately, as the way people seek out and consume information has changed, message boards like this have been superseded by Facebook groups - although the actual information in these groups is vastly inferior to what you'll find here.
Another factor is of course the 'aging out' of many of the former members of this board who have either returned to their home countries or have frankly found other things to spend their time on!
As I said above, if you are new to Singapore, I don’t you’ll find a better source of practical information than this board. But to get the most out of it, you need to use the search function first to ensure that any questions you have haven’t already been answered many times before. (The regulars here get quite irritated with people to lazy to do this first step.)
The other point I’ll note is that newcomers will find that we prefer to give an honest response than provide false hope. This has caused some unhappiness at times.
