Dr Kao

i was contemplating between Dr Hsu,Dr Kao and the koreans.Rule out the koreans becos i wanted to have a natural looking nose that wld fit my whole face rather than attracting the whole world attention.Besides,i have some serious allergy so i would prefer an ENT .

Chose Dr kao becos after reviewing 107pages of forum,it seems that he is someone who actually pays attention to what you want instead of what he think will suit you. So all in all, these are just some reasons why i chose Dr kao.

However, i do realise that it's really your bone structure ,asymmetry ,the communication bet your doc and you,and lastly-the skills of the doc that will decide the outcome of the surgery.

i am trying to push the surgery date to the 3rd week of october as i wana spend more time to recover.Unpaid leave actually ends november. Superficial, r you able to make it?
Hi Chixie,

This is my first time posting ANYWHERE! I have read a lot of threads here and on purse forum. I wish I would've read more before I had my primary rhinoplasty in Taiwan back in Oct 2010. It was a disaster and I had revision last November 2011. Anyways, I have a consult with Dr Kao on Oct 16. I plan to have revision with rib. I was wondering if you already had an appt for consult/surgery with Dr Kao and if so, when? I would love to chat with you if you are in TW from Oct 15 to Nov 13. Since this is my first post, I can not PM anyone...

Rib scar

Post by Worries » Mon, 17 Sep 2012 7:35 pm

Hi clairedoll

Oh my bro rib scar I measure the area where the deep cut is around 1cm
& then those fading one is around 0.5cm.. Dr kao told us the fading red scar will be less visible, as times goes by will fade away. So actual deep scar area is 1cm to 1.2cm ya.. Oh u can do some laser for the rib scar in future, it will helps a little.. :)
I would love to share to ppl who knows how to appreciate...

Updates on Rib Rhinoplasty Revision with Taiwan Dr Kao Chuan Hsiang!

Dr Kao is a very Patience & Friendly dr. He isnt a very over sales business minded doctor, he will only advise his patients with the best necessary surgery and he is very honest to share all information about any complication and solution. :o

Silicone Removal Surgery (Worries)- I told him want a natural curve bridge with good nasal tip projection and my concern is silicone skin thinning issue. So Dr kao advise me to remove my silicone & remain my ear cartilage+Septal cartilage in my nasal tip for projection. He mention that my radix height is gd enough to support my nasal tip projection. During consultation, He agreed that i have a very small face profile which small nose suits me better. If i go for rib graft might be a waste for me because i only need 1mm height on dorsum augmentation. There won't be any nasal tip augmentation on as my nose tip already have septal & ear cartilage in it.

The only thing im worried about after implant removal i may face supra tip depression without implant replacement. Dr Kao again diagnose my nose seriously and he replied that i need not worry about my nose tip and he reassure me i wont have complication with it. His Only concern was he worried that i dont like my original nasal bridge height so he recommend me to do rib Rhinoplasty after silicone removal if i dislike my nose height after removal of implant.

He told me if after removal, i like my nose as what it is then i can just paid 10k NT ($424 sing dollar) for implant removal surgery.

This solution sounds goood fair me so i go ahead with it. Right after my silicone implant was removed, my skin thinning issue was resolved immediately, surgery was fast & i have no contracture issue, result of my nose indeed as gd as what he predicted. i love my new nose!

Freaking speaking i like his Honesty and he wasnt pushy. Most importantly he got a Very Good Aesthetic View.

My Younger Brother Rib Rhinoplasty Surgery
My Bro went through total of 3 rhinoplasty surgery with different Dr.

First primary surgery was in SG - His Silicone L Implant shift and was remove after 2 weeks.

Sec Rhino was done in Taiwan Wishclinic Stupid Dr Chuang.

My Bro L implant silicone extruded after 1 yr post ops on beginning May 2012. My failed Evelid surgery was done by this idiot dr too! This irresponsible dr was not honest & over promising. Worst important thing is he only do what he likes on patients and refused to listen to his patients. Hence he got a very bad Aesthetic View and lousy skill!
This Taiwan trip we went to Look for him for Refund and he was very defensive and unwilling to do refund for us. So here, i have future planning to gather a group of forum member who face the same thing to lauch a complain in Singapore Embassy to take action against him in taiwan medical board soon.
DEAR ALL MEMBERS IF U R A VICTIM OF JIMMY CHUANG! I hope you r willing to join our group to lauch a complain against him. Dont let him enjoy earning a big buck there with lots of failed surgery done on Poor patients like us....

Final 3rd Rib Rhinoplasty By Dr Kao Chuan Hsiang

Dr Kao diagnose my bro have a crooked septal due to past silicone extrusion and there are alot of scar tissue around his nasal tip and asymmetrical nostril holes.. My bro has a short and upturned nose.

Dr Kao did my bro revision with perichondium to wrap on rib graft to repair scar tissue, fill up his pinched nose at upper lateral alar area as well to prevent rib graft from warping. Ear Cartilage was harvest to lengthen his nasal tip projection as my bro do not have enough septal cartilage for tip augmention because Jimmy chuang has removed too much septal cartilage from his previous nose surgery. :x This is also one of the reason that cause my bro nose tip having pinched nose appearance! Columellar strut was pull out to give his nose a better tip projection too and nasal asymmetrical was corrected after the rib nose surgery. My Bro Rib Rhinoplasty Revision was a very successful surgery. He Is now very happy with his result, overall satisfaction was 95%..
Rib Wound was very small, its around 1cm long. Dr Kao use Suture buried stitching method. This is absolutely great for wound healing.

Post by missynathan » Sun, 30 Sep 2012 9:32 pm

hi, has anyone here done cheekbone reduction? i am looking for something that is more like the shifting of cheekbones inwards to make my face slightly narrower. do you guys have good recommendations?

I've done my chin with dr. kao and epi with another doctor and both doctors don't do cheekbone reduction. :(

just my 2 cents worth:
you don't have to book kangning actually. when i did my chin with dr.kao, i stayed at Taipei Train Station area in a hostel which is about 20 minutes by cab to dr.kao's clinic. i stayed with a friend and each of us only paid 20sing per night, if i dont remember wrongly. anyway, my point is, don't worry if you are unable to book a place at kangning, because cab fares in taiwan is cheap even when you add up the cost of travelling to and fro + accomo, its still a lot cheaper than staying one night at kangning plus you are very near major malls (that's if you dare to go out with a swollen face, like i do).

hi missynathan
thanks for your reply and the reassurance. makes me consider again finding my own hotel if i go because kangning seeks so hard to book for osmeone who doesn't speak taiwanese/ mandarin (so i cannot just call). so thanks for th etip. not sure if i will decide taiwan or korea anyhowz.

heard you are considering cheekbone... guess you already read this thread? http://forums.cozycot.com/health/30625- ... rgery.html
is has lots of information... most mention korean clinics though...

VERY popular is "small face" clinic in seoul, korea... speak chinese too... and website has chinese version http://small-face.com/renew/www/ (upper left corner has chinese/ english option)

in tw, i think i heard something about some clinic called "miniface"?!! don't recall if i heard a good or a bad thing about them when it was mentioned though because i ws focusesd korea...

well, thank youf or your reply though hunny and well wish

Hi, how is your chin op? Do you like how it looks? Is it through the mouth? Painlevel? Sorry for so many questions because I think if I do nose, I may have to do chin. Thanking you in advance for your reply!

Double Eyelid & Lateral

Post by almondbutch » Wed, 10 Oct 2012 5:59 pm

Hi all,

I'm new to this thread & have been reading from random pages.
I am interested in doing my eyelids + lateral in Taiwan and im planning to get it done this coming Jan 2013.

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or good reviews from any doctors? I'm currently deciding on Dr Chen from Regent Clinic but i dont think he does lateral.
