MadScientist, many thanks to you and the other posters who have contributed constructively.
Not that I believe the government will amend the Constitution on the citizenship or NS issue, but (and I mean no offence to your valuable comments and contributions) - amendments to the Constitution can and have been made. It is not set in stone. See for example:

Turkey still occupies about one third of Cyprus since they invaded in the 1970s, hence the compulsory NS.
Precisely !! The only way the constitution to be change is by the President and the Gahmen decide to change it. Since they have been governing this little red dot for 46 years, do you think it will change. Under the constitution both the President , the President elect committee and the cabinet need to agree. This is the same as the reserve held by the current Gahmen.
Think about it just by bringing up the Land Issues Backlog, OTC became the black sheep of the PAP and not even a state funeral. Yeah people might said he did not want it. Did you really think so after all the time and energy supporting PAP. ? Look at Devan what has happened to him ?
Years ago a white paper on dual citizenship was done but it stops short by just recognising till 21 for minor of dual citizenship. Thailand, Peens did it and it works wonders for them
Hence I dare say it is set in stone.
