Hi guys, was wondering does it occur that SIA will call back their rejected candidate?
Extremely doubtful. Why on earth, with the numbers of new candidates coming in would they want to call a reject? Might be better to apply to MAS.

I doubt they will try rejected candidate too.

Hello everyone,

I just got rejected after my health check up today. I suspect it’s my spine, because I had to do an X-ray. I emailed them asking for a reason. Do you think they will reply? Or do you think I can call up Fullerton to check? I mean it’s my own results right, I should know? Thank you.

I've went for the interview on 12 March and medical on the 17 March, received the email that my application was unsuccessful 2 weeks later. I suspected it to be due to the high blood pressure readings as they measured multiple times. I went back to Fullerton Health and speaked with the GP who informed that they took my blood pressure multiple times but was high. The GP referred me to a specialist.

Note: At this point of time, SIA had already said my application was unsuccessful. However, I proactively did the follow up myself in hopes to appeal.

At the specialist clinic, I did several tests such as Echocardiogram and 24hr Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring(ABPM). The specialist concluded that my blood pressure was normotensive and it was just nervousness at the clinic. They term this 'White Coat Syndrome". Specialist provided me the medical reports, wrote a medical review/memo stating that everything was normal, no abnormalities and does not require any lifestyle change and discharged me back to the GP. Paid almost $1k for the tests and consultations.

Went back to the GP with the medical report and review/memo, the GP seem hesitant to clear me fit for flying despite being normal as stated in the specialist medical report and memo. She explicitly said that White Coat Syndrome might affect me when I'm at high altitude. White Coat Syndrome only happens when I'm in the clinic, as proven in the 24 hour ABPM, does she not know? However, I provided her the original documents and she informed that she would send it to SIA HR as a supporting document, albeit quite hesitantly.

Anyway I emailed SIA the medical report and memo since 9th May in hopes to appeal as I am perfectly healthy, but no replies.

I guess they have their own protocol in which they will not entertain appeals after sending the rejection email even though you're healthy.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I actually read somewhere that they replied someone’s appeal email that the outcome will not change regardless if they walk in to try again, but I’m not sure if it’s because of their medical condition which is probably different from yours, or something else entirely like being booted before the medical round (can’t remember the reason they got rejected). So it seems like they actually have responded to appeal emails in the past. Not sure if this is a good sign for you or not, but just to let you know.
