42 this year. Got a video interview request from SQ after submission of my application. Is this normal? 42?

If it were United it would be. Don't know about SQ.

Really? If anything I would assume the age requirements for SQ would be stricter than any American airline.

Point being: UA hires older cabin crew as a matter of course, so a 42 year old applicant wouldn't be surprised to get an interview invitation.
SQ much prefers younger chicas... so either the applicant is quite hot looking or SQ missed the birthdate.
I suppose that it's possible that SQ has changed its ageist and sexist policies but there's about as much probability of that happening as a 100 kilo solid gold meteor crashing through my roof and landing in my family room.

Yeah heard that United is more relaxed with age criterion, meaning acceptance of matured women as attendants.
Online application has no requirements to submit self picture. Just requirements of resume, age, height, weight and GCE “O” level results and some other basic data. There is a possibility that there is a mislook of DOB am suspecting.

I second that… UA hires old (and grumpy) cabin crew. Unless you’re lucky, expect at least one to epitomize Marge Simpson’s sister.

Just an update that am shortlisted for the physical interview. I see questions whether SQ is open to applications from women above 35 etc. yes is possible. Am 40ish. My background is in finance industry.

I was actually thinking of one of her twin sisters, Patty or Selma

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.
